Here.

Tbh I like JC but from my experience and having met him I know that PS is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. If the comments of JC have been reported accurately then the words "pompous" and "prat" come to mind.

you can see it here. cringeworthy

kizzie · 09/06/2010 18:55

sorry jollypirate - i didnt realise you had linked to the audio. thicko me

cornsilkcottagecheese · 09/06/2010 19:00

JC was so aggressive

Hassled · 09/06/2010 19:02

JC comes across as a complete twat on that clip. A real shame - I like him.

DuelingFanjo · 09/06/2010 19:06

I think Patrick Stewart actually dealt with it really badly to be honest. He's the one who comes over as a pompous twat.

cornsilkcottagecheese · 09/06/2010 19:06

I wonder if something had gone on previously.JC seemed to be purposely winding PS up at the start of that clip.

southeastastra · 09/06/2010 19:10

i really hate that fat (sorry) git. what a wanker.

poor patrick, dignified as ever though.

HerBeatitude · 09/06/2010 19:10

That is excruciating.

There is something gruesomely fascinating about someone as fat as Cordon presenting awards to hungry, underfed women who simply wouldn't be allowed on our TV screens if they were even half as fat as him.

HerBeatitude · 09/06/2010 19:11

Cornsilk I think you must be right. JC was behaving like a twat at the beginning of that clip, something must have been going on beforehand.

hatingmyjob · 09/06/2010 19:12

I liked JC until he started doing the sports quiz on sky. He just tries too hard. He's naturally funny but he just goes a bit too far and tries to be controversial. It's just not necessary - the Smithy at sports personality of the year was genius - why can't he stick to being funny without trying to be too clever about it?

Furball · 09/06/2010 19:15

this clip shows the beginning and it looks like it wasn't James who 'started' it

southeastastra · 09/06/2010 19:21

jc really should have just smiled sweetly. what awards were they again?

FlameOverThinks · 09/06/2010 19:23

That is one of the oddest things ever

Ronaldinhio · 09/06/2010 19:25

patrick stewart comes across as a complete tool

Disenchanted3 · 09/06/2010 19:27

Hmmm, they both come across really badly IMO.

I love PS though - I have the feeling he was trying to be funny in the way everyone takes the piss out of 'fat lads' (Johnny Vegas style) but JC just didn't go for it and started a stand off.

cringworthy watching though!

pointydog · 09/06/2010 19:29

Never liked Corden, the high-voiced, very unfunny twat. And this further shows what an arsehole he is.

HerBeatitude · 09/06/2010 19:35

God having seen the bit at the beginning, PS also comes across as a twat.

I loved one of the comments on that youtube clip though - soemthing along the lines of WTF are those 2 doing at a glamour awards, one's fat and one's bald - WTF, it's awards for glamour.

Don't anyone ever try and pretend there isn 't adifferent beauty standard for men and women...

nigglewiggle · 09/06/2010 19:36

I think PS took exception to JC's presenting style, but pretending not to know who he is and telling him off like a school teacher was not a good move. I think he then resented the fact that JC's retort was quite sharp and it became personal. I agree that JC looked exceedingly riled, but I think PS (legend though he is) came off worse.

pointydog · 09/06/2010 19:38

I can forgive someone coming across as an arse on one or two occasions.

Corden always comes across as an in-your-face berk.

Ronaldinhio · 09/06/2010 19:39

I'm no fan of Corden but PS was entirely cringe worthy and unnecessary

AmpleBosom · 09/06/2010 19:39

I think PS went too far, who goes to an award ceremony to give an award and then stands there telling the presenter they are doing it wrong etc

I think JC was right to call him on it, very uncomfortable viewing either way

While I think Patrick Stewart is probably a bit up his own arse, James Corden is one of the most unfunny twats ever to grace the screen and as such my casting vote in this death match goes to PS. After all, when has James Corden ever given us the majesty of the facepalm?

Merrylegs · 09/06/2010 19:48

Indeed, one might almost be tempted to chant:

'Come and 'ave a go if you think you're hard enough.'

If it wasn't such a thuggishly loathsome phrase, that is.
