its unbelievable.... already have DD, she's 4 on Friday, but really dont want her to be an only child. Am I being selfish by wanting another child when I have a beautiful daughter? Im 36 & DH is 46 so gettin on a bit!!!
I also rely on my mum to take & collect DD to nursery on the 2 days during the week I work. Having another child would also have an effect on my mum....I dont know what to do to be right.....

Never mind what effect it may or may not have on your mother - this decision is up to you and your dh.

I was 39 when I had my last child. I thought every one would be impressed at my old school reunion, but I found a former classmate had 3 children under age 3 when she was 45!

As for your dh - he would not be the oldest dad in the world if you were to conceive today.

I personally don't think either of you are too old but you must weigh up the pros and cons for yourselves. There is nothing unbelievable about a mother wanting a second child. It would be more unusual if you didn't want any more.
