It's one of his gp's, he knew it was ill and took it to the vet yesterday. I came back this afternoon and found she'd died.

Do I call him at work or wait till he gets home?

Wait till he gets home

Could you swap it for a similar looking one before he comes home?

This happened to me- I put it in a shoe box filled with sawdust, told kids when they got in from school. Rang DP at work though, I figured he could cope with it, he's a grown man.

Themasterandmargaritas · 18/05/2010 16:39

Will he be very upset? How many does he have?

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 18/05/2010 16:46

Wait and make him a nice tea.

poor piggy.

arsesandoldlace · 18/05/2010 16:52

scurryfunge - quite honestly he would notice the difference! (or I'd be tempted)

Themasterandmargaritas - he will be upset i think, she was his favourite. He has 5 gps now.

Yeah, I will wait till he gets home. I've put her in a box lined with straw. Poor little Dolly.

RIP Dolly.

PS - you didn't feed her avocados did you? We knocked a couple off that way.

scurryfunge · 18/05/2010 16:53

Sorry arsesandoldlace, that was my poor attempt at humour...poor guinea pig

Katisha · 18/05/2010 17:00

You need the Mumsnet Classic Guineau Pig obit poems thread.
Will look for it

Here we are

arsesandoldlace · 18/05/2010 17:10

No, no avocados master, she got a UTI - small furries don't really show illness until it's almost too late, so we only realised on Sunday, vets yesterday, dead today.

No offence taken scurry, I like black humour as much as the next english person!
