Blocking certain people on Facebook

Hi all,

I've been working as an English language assistant at a school in France and my contract is due to end at the end of May. Some of the kids have asked if they can become friends on Facebook and practice their English by messaging me - I'm fine with this, but is it possible to permanently block them from my photos etc when I accept them as friends. I don't want them rifling through the pictures that are essentially there for family and friends back home to see.

Many thanks.

Yes. Go into Account > Privacy Settings > Profile Info > Photos and Videos of me

I would start a new group called something like '* school conversation practice' rather than have them on your personal page. Which I think is inappropriate between a teacher and students. How old are they?

I think you have to be friends with them and THEN go through and block them from the bits you want to (unless I've been missing something)

which means that when they initially are added they can see your whole profile if there is a time delay between being friends and you editing your settings

In Account settings at the top right of the screen there is a drop down for Privacy settings.

Here you can block certain people from seeing anything from relationship status to photo albums. In the albums, go to customise and it should allow you the option to block.

It may be easier to put all your students into one list and then block the whole list from there.
