Would you/should you report someone for having a child in a car who is unrestrained?

I was driving behind a car for about a mile tonight. Two women in the front, a boy in the back of about 5. Who was hanging out of the back window. Not just his head, his whole upper body

I wrote down their licence plate number. Should I report them? Would the police care?

Bump. I think I need to call them sooner rather than later if at all.

Definitely. Some people are just gobsmackingly stupid.

Thanks mumblechum, am calling them now. Will let you know what they say

Yes absolutely. I did just this about a parent at my daughter's school. The police agreed to send a patrol car around during drop off / pick up time. Never actually saw any police at school (but I'm not there for every drop off and pick up) - however, the offending parent now delivers the child on foot after months of squeezing too many children into a car with too few car seats.

Ooh I just spoke to a woman who was very keen to have the details. Thanks. I was so cross! If I'd been stopped behind them at the lights, I would have got out and had a word. Stupid stupid people The woman was a bloody awful driver too
