Working hours after maternity leave????

Situation is this....

I have one ds who will be 5 in July, ds#2 due in June. I'm currently working 3 full days per week which means that ds#1 goes to nursery before and after school on the 3 days that I work. I have had a chat with my supervisor at work about what hours I want to return to after mat leave. They have offered either what I am doing now or i can do mon - fri 9.30 - 2.30 term time. This would mean that ds#1 wouldn't need to go to nursery and ds#2 would only be there 9.30 - 2.30. The difference in money would only be £14 per month.

What option would you choose, dp has said it's up to me what I opt for??????

Hmm - 9.30 to 2.30 sounds lovely, but it also means that LO never gets to have a whole day with you. Once both are at school I would do the 9.30 to 2.30 lark but til then I would do 3 days FT.

I would agree with Shush, except if you are not currently term time only? If you are term time only on your 3 days a week, I would stick to that tbh. Having 2 days where you don't think about work is very good, especially with a young baby.

As shush says, I would change once they are both at school.

Thanks ladies, I'm not term time at the minute which makes me think that the new hours would be better as I would have weeks at a time to spend with both kids whereas the hours that I do just now ds#1 would miss out as he is at school the 2 days that I am off.
