Why is Wayne Bridge so pissed off with John Terry?

I could understand it if he was with Vanessa at the time she was shagging JT. But they had split up.

So why is he reacting to the whole saga in a more extreme way than even JT's missus?

Is it just like schoolground shenanigans when you got pissed off with a mate getting together with your ex?

I think he was with her, was he not? They had split up before the story came out though

yellowcircle · 27/02/2010 21:27

Both couples have children so I think that complicates things a bit.

cravingcroissants · 27/02/2010 21:30

I think if you're friends with someone then shagging their Ex's are off limits. It's a question of respect isn't it? I wouldn't dream of shagging one of my mates ex's especially when children are involved.

fanjolina · 27/02/2010 21:31

No, they had split up when the affair happened Prosecco. JT was 'comforting' her over the split

I agree that children complicate things yellowcircle. But it still doesn't make Bridge the 'wronged' party in all of this.

He shagged his team mate / best mate's very recently ex-wife, paid for her to have an abortion, did it all behind Bridge's back.

He is a shyster. Cannot believe his mug of a wife is standing by him.

Ceebee74 · 27/02/2010 21:36

I totally agree - all seems a bit bizarre to me Even more so now that Wayne Bridge has sacrificed his England career and the chance to go to the World Cup (surely the pinnacle of any footballers career??). It definitely seems an overreaction to it all so I am wondering if there is more to this than we know.....

If one of my close friends had an affair with the father of my children i would be fecking furious.

  1. ex partners are off limits. Just are.

  2. I'd feel betrayed that my friend kept it a secret from me - why not just be honest?

  3. I'd be angry that my friend was treating my ex so badly given they had a partner already.

I find it strange that anyone finds his anger strange tbh

fanjolina · 27/02/2010 21:39

not just sacrificing his career, but also severely jeopardising England's chances of success. I too think that there must be more to it. Either that or he needs to start acting like a man and suck it up - as he wasn't wronged!!!

If my supposed best friend shagged my other half when we had just split up then I would be very very very pissed off. He was supposed to be his friend, someone he could trust! I certainly don't blame WB for not wanting to shake his hand, or be in the same room as him, at the moment. I do think he is making a mistake in not going to the World Cup though, and hope he reconsiders it.

So glad Chelsea lost today. What was going on with JT's hair??

Seeing as they had already split, she's fair game IMO. Not John Terry's fault she's happy to shag away while her dc's are in the house

DaddyJ · 27/02/2010 21:44

Being pissed off is one thing but all this palaver is over the top.

Capello must be tearing his hair out. If I were an England fan I'd be massively annoyed with all this bollox.

preggersplayspop · 27/02/2010 21:50

Other than refusing to shake his hand, then I think WB has been pretty low-key with it all. Its mainly the over-excited media that has whipped everything up. You would think they would do everything they could to support the team in a World Cup year but they seem hell bent on stirring things up before we even get there.

I'm not sure Bridge would be in the team anyway, he hasn't had a sustained run of form for a while and it could be argued that Warnock, Cashley and Baines are all ahead of him.

Is it possible he knows this and has made it JT's "fault" that he can't play for England, rather than leaving it to Capello not to pick him?

fanjolina · 27/02/2010 21:59

ooh, now that would make more sense of the whole shenanigans lisbey

preggersplayspop · 27/02/2010 22:01

Cashley may not be fit in time though, so he should be a front runner for the squad given he has more international experience than others. Not really surprising his form may have dropped off recently!

I still think he will change his mind and decide to go. Its the World Cup for goodness sake, something he must have dreamed of when he was little.

Cyclops · 27/02/2010 22:03

IMO, Bridge and Terry are as bad as each other....Bridge was happy to let Terry shag his mistresses in his (Bridge's) mansion (without presumably caring too much about Terry's wife) yet he takes the moral high ground when it turns out that Terry also shagged his own ex!

fanjolina · 27/02/2010 22:05

Really Cyclops? Was JT shagging another bint-on-the-side at Wayne's place previously?

OP posts:
preggersplayspop · 27/02/2010 22:11

The way I read it was that JT had brought a girl back to WB's house for some action and WB was upset with him because he is friends with JT's wife and wasn't happy about it.

He should have gone round to Chezza and Cashley's mansion, I'm sure Cashley would have been more accepting of it!

Cyclops · 27/02/2010 22:27

I read that Terry had been linked to quite a few different women and that Bridge had allowed Terry to use his mansion!

Ceebee74 · 28/02/2010 12:41

In todays paper, it says the reason Bridge has withdrawn from England was because of his son He wants to be able to tell his son that he refused to play in the same team as the man who tried to wreck their lives (double )

Now, to me, that is a load of cr*p because JT did not try and wreck their lives - he had a relationship with Bridge's ex who was afaik single at the time. Also, I reckon that any little boy, in years to come, would be much prouder of a dad who played in a World Cup team rather than took the moral high ground and missed out.

fanjolina · 28/02/2010 13:34

Yes, I read that story with a big face too.

As you say, it doesn't stack up. Surely playing for England in the Wold Cup is the pinnacle of achievement for a footballer.

And to give that all up cos your mate shagged your EX-missus? I don't buy it.

And I think he is wrong to bring his son into this. Neither he nor his son are affected. This is not their story.

wintera · 28/02/2010 19:08

I agree with the others who think there is more to this than we know about. They may have been knocking each other off beforehand. There was a story going around that questionable texts etc were sent between JT and VP before she split with WB. Maybe Wayne was hoping for a reconcilliation and is annoyed that his so called friend swooped in as soon as his back was turned to "comfort her".

As for the story that WB let JT use his house for shagging sessions, well that is not the way I read it. A lady who had a bunk up with JT said he took her back to WB's house and the next day WB was very unhappy about the situation as the 2 couples were all friends.

Plus, there is the money that JT has now paid to VP to keep her gob shut. If it's as much as the papers say it is, then he must be worried about what she could spill the beans about!
