I guess if she's very popular in Latin America she may well globally outsell those artists. Also I think Whitney and Elton John have spent most of their money on cocaine, Cheryl Cole ain't that well off, Madonna's probably spent most of her money on orphanages and Macca's spent it on a divorce.

I think the richest singer in the world is probably Alison Krauss and she's not exactly well known. I'm sure I read somewhere she's the richest.

Cranberries were huge in America. Friend of a friend of a freind thing but I know of someone who was in a band that are now largely forgotten but had a HUGE hit in America. He now no longer needs to work. At All.
