babysitter booked, restaurant booked and DH lets me down again, albeit with work issues but same old, same old!
Shall I
a) keep babysitter and go to the restaurant with a good book and enjoy a meal?
b) keep babysitter and go to the supermarket, do the shop and then have tomorrow afternoon to chill out instead?
c) cancel the babysitter and sulk?
d) something else?

TIA

Keep babysitter - go to girlfriends house with wine and chocs. Or drag childfree girlfriend to wine bar. Or go to cinema on own with the biggest bar of choc ever. Invoice DH for nights events.

foxinsocks · 04/02/2010 19:24

I would probably do the shop so I could chill tomorrow

not sure how relaxed you'd feel in the restaurant (you might be seething still!)

overmydeadbody · 04/02/2010 19:27

keep the babysitter, do a quick sweep of the supermarket for essentials and then go to restaurant on your own or invite a friend along.

Whatever you do don't cancel the babysitter.

mckenzie · 04/02/2010 19:28

babysitter here now (didn't get my message asking her to delay by 30 mins, my fault for not checking). Cant think of any girlfriends who will be available at short notice and not sure i'm going to be great company anyway. Looks like it's Sainsbury maybe followed by pub!!! Billy No Mates in the corner with Grazia, that'll be me.

I'd go to the pictures.

overmydeadbody · 04/02/2010 19:29

Maybe instead of going to restaurant alone you could go to the cinema or just to a pub with your book and enjoy it with a few glasses of wine?

thisisyesterday · 04/02/2010 19:32

i would do the supermarket shop and then relax tomorrow

mckenzie · 04/02/2010 21:37

so I did the quickest trip round Sainsbury ever and then had supper in the pub with a large rioja. Just got home in time to put the shopping away and have another glass of wine while I watch the news. My marital life stinks!!

Oooh, restaurant.

And order something messy. Spaghetti or ribs.

Could you suprise him at work with a bottle you pick up in Sainsbos?

timelordvictorious · 04/02/2010 21:54

Aw, that's rubbish.

Make sure you do something just for you tomorrow afternoon with your saved shopping time.

Is there scope for him treating you to something over the weekend? Takeaway maybe?

Am still quite at your solo supper with rioja however. But, then again, I tend to be of anyone able to have a wee on their own without a toddler trying to climb in their lap or grab the loo brush, so my jealousy-threshold is quite low.

mckenzie · 04/02/2010 22:06

I dont supposed he'll be home now until the early hours LadyintheRad - that's what usually happens. And then he'll be tired in the morning so will either still be in bed when i get up and get the DCs ready for school or he'll get up himself and be grumpy cos he's tired. I did quite enjoy my hour of peace in the pub tlv although it was slightly marred by having to listen to what I took to be an elderly couple on a date discussing where they would have sex for the first time, his house or hers (I kid you not!) I was jealous if the truth be know, they had lovely intimacy and affection.

Aw, that's quite sweet. I hope I'm still planning sex locations when I'm a crumbly. (Although would like to be doing that planning with Bloke, not some random new boyfriend.)

mckenzie · 05/02/2010 15:04

DH now saying he'll be working later tonight too. Anything good on the TV?? or shall I take the DCs for pizza??
