Probably a really dumb question but I can't see any instructions on the Home Page. DS1 (10) would like to join FB.

it is 13 i do believe officially but i know loads of kids who have accounts (rightly or wrongly).

thisisyesterday · 04/01/2010 19:10

i think it's 13

mvemjsunp · 04/01/2010 19:11

It's 13. My DD has six weeks to go and she can't wait.

CuppaTeaJanice · 04/01/2010 19:18

My 11 year old niece is on it. I noticed she changed her DOB to 1996 though, so I guess it's supposed to be 13.

My ds has a fb account and he is 10.

I have not put his pic on his fb profile and I have high privacy settings so no one should be able to search for him etc

I also know his password and until he is older he knows that I will check his account etc, he has to ask my permission to accept friend requests etc.

He loves it for the games etc, he loves farmville.

I've had a talk with him about internet safety etc and bullying.

Think if its heavily supervised etc then I can't see a prob with it

I did change his age though

SixtyFootDoll · 07/01/2010 11:19

It is 13
But my DS is 10 and I set up an ccount for him, I have the password for it and check it all the time.
He uses it to talk to his school friends and family members.
He knows that the only people he accepts as friends are people he knows in real life.

My nephew is on...he is 6!!!

(Not that I agree with him being on).

DD has had an account since she was born. Her father and I update it for her. It allows our friends who want to to keep abreast of her progress and photos and stuff without filling our own statuses with baby stuff which will bore some of our friends silly!

Hulababy · 17/01/2010 22:07

13y

I know of some chldren on there. I refuse to have children as friends on my FB. My DD won't be having a FB account until she is 13.
