Little Venice my arse.
He live in an ordinary street in Maida Vale
Not as posh as Little Venice not as dodgy as Carlton Vale where Jude Law lives.

Near Julian Rhind Tutt and that one off Ballykissangel
I know because I used to live there

LittleLuigi · 30/11/2009 18:34

FreeGoegreJackson - where did the for example come from?? Which sleb was it who self googled? I forget.

hocuspontas · 30/11/2009 18:38

Can't believe Time Team has been going 18 years!

DP watches the repeats all the time - yawn.

I'm not a fan - I feel like smashing the TV when he says 'geo. phys' on TT. He's got the Ian Hislop 'I'm clever' look about him.

LittleLuigi · 30/11/2009 18:41

FGJ - merci bien

EccentricaGallumbits · 30/11/2009 18:47

always assumed he was a bit gay. perhaps not.

choosyfloosy · 30/11/2009 18:59

Am trying out headlines:

63-year-old man has five relationships over 45 years shock horror

Telly star has large house shock horror

Person has sex with younger person shock horror

Well, at least it shows the Daily Mail is an equal opportunity sneerer.

Arsed · 30/11/2009 19:03

I love him.

WouldYouCouldYouWithAGoat · 30/11/2009 19:04

god isn't he old

GhoulsAreLoud · 30/11/2009 19:42

He's right about Piers Morgan.

choosyfloosy · 30/11/2009 20:46

I have to say though, I thought he was a fairly devout Christian? Where did I get that from? [bemused]

maybe he's just a sinner

NanBullen · 30/11/2009 21:02

she looks a lot older than 28

BitOfFun · 30/11/2009 21:02

I thought he sounded alright to me in that article actually. Who wants to read your usual sleb platitudes about how much respect they have for their maaaaaaaaahvellous co-workers. And he is only telling the truth about Stephen Fry- he does talk bollocks sometimes, even though he is a very clever man.

sixfoldwaitingtime · 30/11/2009 21:13

I've worked with him, and he was gloriously lacking in attitude and egotism - he seemed like a really decent bloke, and there aren't many presenters you can say that about.

I thought one of the more revealing things in that article was that he seems to be on good terms with all of his exes, so he can't be that much of a horror.

choosyfloosy · 30/11/2009 21:19

i agree sixfoldwaitingtime. also thought it was funny that the journo seemed to be piqued that TR wasn't letting her into his house - why on earth should he?

CitizenPrecious · 30/11/2009 21:25

bet the DM absolutely loathe him. Was expecting far, far worse

...he's pretty Labour, inne? Wasn't he on the National Executive for a while?

Confused
PrivetDancer · 30/11/2009 22:04

I'm surprised how literally people are taking this article given the misrepresentation mumsnet as a whole and justine have both seen recently.

Sometimes it seems the press put their own slant on things!

I don't know if I was reading too much between the lines, but he came across as a likeable chap with respect for the people who worked with, and who's probably demonstrated a lot of integrity in his relationships if they all ended so amicably.

But short snippets of a conversation can be easily twisted to make people look bad.

jemart · 30/11/2009 23:56

I do love Tony Robinsons work, he is great.

Not sure I approve of 35 year age gap between him and his fiance, but whatever really, she's not my daughter....

UnquietDad · 02/12/2009 09:25

He doesn't come across too badly does he?

His response to the Piers Morgan jibe is fair enough. Why should he give a toss?

But this made me

"Robinson left Mary for beautiful singer-songwriter Teri Bramah. The relationship lasted six years and after a number of short-lived affairs, he met Helly and moved her into his London home..."

How dis the man find the time?? And the stamina??

(I wonder what first attracted that 28-year-old woman to 63-year-old millionaire Tony Robinson.)
