Serving wine (or not) at the PTA meeting?

Help me please?
I'm hosting the next preschool PTA meeting at my house and usually wine gets served but to be honest I simply can't afford to (could be up to 14 ladies), can anyone tell me whether this is a massive faux pas or whether I could get away with perhaps some cocktails or fruit punch and if so anyone got any good recipes?

Ta.

If it's before Christmas, then make mulled wine. In my never-fail recipe (actually I learnt it from helping my mum make mulled wine at PTA events) this involves large amounts of full sugar lemonade, not terribly good red wine, and mulling spice. You can also mull apple juice which looks, smells, and tastes great, but costs v little. And is lovely and Christmassy still

Thanks for the ideas, am feeling much happier about it now ! Will go with mulled wine and mulled apple juice and some mince pies - sorted!
