Hi

We have just returned from a lovely few days at a very, very swanky country house which my SIL rented for her mum's birthday celebrations. She has recently married someone with considerably more money than us so can afford it - and we obviously bought my dh's mum a (more modest) present.

However, I feel I should do something to thank her for it because it was really very nice. I initially thought just a thank you card but then thought maybe I should send her some flowers. The present wasn't for us - but we did benefit and had a fab time at somewhere we would never be able to afford ourselves.

What do you all think I should do? Thank you card and/or flowers (or something else)?

Thanks in advance girls ...

Genuine gratitude expressed in a card is all that is needed imo.

Thanks belgo. Good to know. Originally I thought a card was enough but then, once I thought of flowers, thought a card was a bit tight!

Will go and choose a nice one.

Thanks again!
