Am I the only one who doesn't add random people to their friends list?

I have about 80 friends on FB which are a mix of friends, family & a few people I went to school with that I chat to. I know who they all are & if I ever get a request from someone that I have no idea who they are I don't except it. My profile is also private so if you are not a friend all you view is my name, you can't even see a photo or my friends list.

My sister has over 200 people on FB (makes me feel feeble!) & when I asked who some of them were she just shrugged & said 'Dunno' she said they'd invited her & she'd added them (My DSis is 19 btw) but it seems she's not alone in doing that! Am I the only saddo who only adds people she knows?

I have photos of my DC on there so I wouldn't want people I didn't know being to browse them!

I used to only add people I know, but since I started playing certain games, where you get points and such for having a certain number of 'neighbors', I have added people from MN and other message boards I read.

But I don't just add someone because they send me a request. They have to tell me who they are!

No, I am the same, only add someone if I actually know them and want them to have access to my photos and other information.

I only add friends, family and people I know from work/school etc but I still have over 200 friends.

So no, you're not the only person that does that, I think most people I know only add people they know and talk to!

I have had friend requests from people I don't know and I have not added them.

I have a mix of old and current friends, family and some Mners. I wouldn't add anyone who I didn't know.

My sister openly admitted that she doesn't know at least 30 of the people on her FB - I just don't get that!

I have a few MNers on my FB too but ones that I talk to regulary & know who they are.

No, I don't add random people.

MY FB is family, current friends old school friends and online friends, such as from MN.

I only joined FB a few days ago and I have 19 friends all of whom I know or have known in the past, would not add randomers.

I did get a friend telling me the other day to add one of her friends whom I don't know as she was trying to build up a bigger nbetwork between everyone she knows

She was annoyed when I said no...

No I am ridicously catious when it comes to facebook.

I have in the past felt uncomfortable with some of the friend requests from people I do know, depending on how much I want them to know about my current life

Tend to keep things very lighthearted on there and often have a bit of a gasp about how personal some people get. Although it can be entertaining to read

I would not add people I don't know, but I am guilty of adding people I went to school with and didn't have much to do with at the time, let alone now. Even the bullies popular kids...

I'm just not good at rejecting people, it makes me feel mean!

I too was feeling feeble at only haveing 50+ freinds. Lots of people I know have 300+.

I wasnt't adding people unless I knew them as freinds, but have recently added someone who requested me who I know I don't know. A lot of my shcool frinds are his freind, but I'm quite sure he left the school before I started...and I recognised his name as he was talked about so much.

I also added somone I really don't remember from school, and now she frequently comments on my status. I don feel like saying " Sorry, but I don't rememer you...did we ever actually speak at school?"

I've had 2 people from school try to add me as a friend. The things is they bullied me massively, they made my school life a living hell & one even punched me in the head several times when I was walking home from school one time. I just sat there gob smacked when the request came through - I rejected it of course. I mean come on, I'm really going to let the 2 people who single handidly made me a nervous wreck be my FB friend

I keep getting requests from men that I don't know, when I click on them to see their friends list its always all women

I don't add anyone I don't know, I won't add people I don't like either!

I have a few MN friends on there who I "met" on my antenatal thread, its a nice way to see eachothers babies growing

I only have people I know in RL, are related to me or I have "known" for a long time online. I do have a few people from school who I didn't know that well at the time (we seem to have a lot more in common now we have DCs around the same age), but no one I actively disliked.

I have literally 100's that I don't "know" - but they're all on limited profile - added them for various games I play on their. They can't see photos, status updates, wall or anything really.

I have only ever added people I know in RL or have spoken to on a 1-2-1 basis on FB (when it used to have network chat boards) for a very long time.

I recently culled a list of over 230 to under 100 though... all old school people etc, to people that I regularly talk to.

One of my god friends has nearly 800 friends. When I asked if she knew them all personally she said yes....

Vengeful - at one point I counted how many people I know "personally" (or at least did know very well and just lost contact because of distance) - I had 213 of them LOL.

I only add people i know work/worked with went tos school with/ know from school

Mostly family & old school / uni friends. I have a few people I've never met but even they are friends of friends who I got chatting with - don't see the point in having people I'm never going to want to talk to!

I've got 64 friends on fb. Mixture of old friends, couple of relatives, work collegues that I'm friendly with, and quite a few MNers.

I think it's great for sharing photos of my family with friends who no longer live near me so I don't see often.
