Why is Sinitta involved in X-Factor?

And why is she doing this?

Perhaps I have missed something of her less obvious talents but surely her only claim to fame (other than one-time shag partner of Simon Cowell) is a dodgy hit back in the 80's?

I think it is equally weird being judged by Danni Minogue. How is she qualified?

There is something about Sinitta though that just makes me shudder.

It's because Simon presumably realises he would never take any one else's advice anyway and so he might as well wheel in his ex, who he's comfortable ignoring.

I read something that she was practically fostered into his family and they were never lovers. But then an interview recently with her implied they were.

Simon could pretty much invite anyone he wanted to be a judge with him and he could happily ignore anything they said if he so fancied. He chooses a mate. Why not?
