Rhubs, I am bit stunned by this too tbh.

Fimbo · 13/07/2009 14:19

Oops sorry cross post, dh phoned in the middle of me typing it.

I saw her in BHS, stroking the light blue nylon tops and giving herself an electric shock.

Pale blue linen top - are you up the duff?

FaceBoak · 13/07/2009 14:21

didn't posh shops used to have a scarf in changing rooms to prevent this sort of thing?

Rhubarb · 13/07/2009 14:24

Oh look, here she is trying it on! You look lovely!

GetOrfMoiLand · 13/07/2009 14:25

Has anyone tried to convince themselves they can still fit into a size 8, shoehorned themselves into it, then realised that the overstuffed cumberland sausage look is not for them. Then cue tears and sweaty panic because you can't get the bloody thing off your fat self?

Or is it just me that has literally ripped myself out of an outfit. Disclaimer - it was a vile jumpsuit (ha!) and was overpriced anyway.

LynetteScavo · 13/07/2009 15:59

Oh yes - I had to litterally rip a top off once - luckily there was no staff about.

nickschick · 13/07/2009 16:02

what is this birkie situation you speak of???

Fimbo · 13/07/2009 16:14

Yes I tried on a red short mac in Hobbs yesterday, it was a size 8 (they only had 8's in the sale). I was determined to get in it, with 32FF norks, it was not a good look.

Fimbo · 13/07/2009 16:16

This in red.

Fimbo · 13/07/2009 16:17

Pah silly link - The Angelo.

Rhubarb · 13/07/2009 16:20

I think that if you are short and a bit chubby, that coat will make you look even more so. Just a general obs about the coat btw and not a reference to you Fimby!

When I was younger I hated trying things on because they would just fall off me. The shop asst would look at me and shake her head saying "that's the smallest we do". I left feeling like a freak!

Fimbo · 13/07/2009 16:25

I am tall and chubby! .

I used to be a size 6-8 then met dh, was in a crap relationship before and he started taking me out to restaurants (had never been to many before) and the weight piled on and stayed there!

Well thats make excuse anyway - dieting again starting this week

Rhubarb · 13/07/2009 16:33

Don't get it in white then, black is a more flattering colour if you are a little top heavy. But you would suit something a little longer that takes the focus away from the top half of you.

Fimbo · 13/07/2009 16:38

The red was gorgeous Rhubs. Don't need it or particularly want it, was just determined to try it on and they only had 8's in the red.

The white already had foundation smears around the collar line (hey where is you know who!) plus a white coat and 5 year old boys do not mix at all.

Rhubarb · 13/07/2009 18:42

Tut! These people who try on clothes with a full face of make-up - honestly!
