Fess up. Tis the only thing to do.

shinyshoes · 02/07/2009 15:04

oh dear.

well at least you did the right thing and put money in an envelope.

MangoJuggler · 02/07/2009 15:04

What happened Ginge?

It ought to go back incognito to Passport Agency and you'll have to suck up the £72

Slattern !!

GingerIgnoramus · 02/07/2009 15:04

oh counersigning issue.
I have paid
Now if they say" oh i only had a month left" do I expect a refund?

OP posts:
Mamazon · 02/07/2009 15:05

tell him, quick!
he may not have gotten round to replacing it just yet, thus saving you both money.
if not then im afraid you'll have to cough up

shinyshoes · 02/07/2009 15:05

No ginger don't expect a refund

MangoJuggler · 02/07/2009 15:06

NO

sherby · 02/07/2009 15:06

Oh you have to give him the money

squeaver · 02/07/2009 15:06

You've got the passport - have a look and see how long they had.

MangoJuggler · 02/07/2009 15:06

oooh have you been to the tennis yet?

SpawnChorus · 02/07/2009 15:07

where did you find it???

smacks of slatternliness to me.

squeaver · 02/07/2009 15:11

I once lost my passport. Couldn't find it the night before I had to fly to Spain for a work thing. Me and dh were all over the house trying to find it until 3am.

About a month later I found it in the pocket of a jacket hanging in the hall.

I have never told dh.

Bramshott · 02/07/2009 15:12

I would have thought the £72 plus an apology, plus a bottle of wine for the inconvenience.

Sounds just like the sort of daffy thing I would do!

GingerIgnoramus · 02/07/2009 15:12

I went to the tennis
WELl its more complicated
I sent it to the PO thinking it was dses
they clipped it before they realised it wasnt dsses old one.
He then rang up for a new one, they said " hey we hav had your old one in"
and he didnt tell me!!!
so he would have just absorbed the cost.

it was only when they wrote to me saying "Where is dsses old passport" i thought

Oh ffs

OP posts:
GingerIgnoramus · 02/07/2009 15:13

Honesty is the best policy. & Booze.

MangoJuggler · 02/07/2009 15:20

No need for wine

well for you praps

Gingerly · 02/07/2009 15:32

the shame

pooka · 02/07/2009 15:40

Oh how embarrassing!

So glad it wasn't me - I'd be mortified.

Still intrigued as to why you actually had the passport in the first place - have just had dd's renewed, and was a case of the counter-signatory just filling in their part of the form with passport number and signing rather than ever letting go of the actual passport.

I agree with the wine plus refund rather than just refund. For the hassle involved.

Gingerly · 02/07/2009 15:40

he put it back in the wrong envelope.

pooka · 02/07/2009 16:58

Ah well - is like an AIBU by stealth

If his mistake, then additional guilt offerings unnecessary.

MangoJuggler · 02/07/2009 16:59

heh heh pooka

stealth reveal

Gingerly · 02/07/2009 22:09
