???
Just that really.
Assuming there were no staff around that really seemed to notice, etc.

I dropped a bottle of cider (after having paid for it) outside Budgens, went back inside to ask for someone to clear up the mess, and they said I could take another for free from the fridge.

when i was a lot younger, i was in a garden centre with my mum and sis. was looking at the xmas tree baubles. picked one up thinking it was a bouncy ball slammed it onto the floor expecting it to bounce back up but it shattered all over the floor.

didn't even tell my mum, just swept the big shards towards the table with my foot and hurried away!

It was a screw top and the top kind of bent. And it fizzed, but not liquid everywhere (a bottle of white wine fell out of my fridge once and smashed, I agree, it goes for miles!!!). And I paid for the rest of my shopping quickly and headed for the bus as fast as I could. At least I have no wine so I will have a sober evening

Me and my housemate were having a massive xmas party (pre children), we went to asda got food, beer and quite a few bottles of barcardi, wheeling the trolley to the car across the car park 2 bottles of barcardi fell out of the trolley and shattered. Asda replaced them!!

can I just add, as a slight divergence, that I did once knock over a full pint of Guinness in a pub after I'd paid for it but before I'd taken a sip - the barman didn't even blink, just pulled me another pint for free. I like that kind of service!

Is it a bit sad that we're all so surprised that these places do this? I think it's excellent customer service.
