But you never get top sportswomen going out with vacuous male pop totty.

I can't imagine Paula Radcliffe stepping out with Enrique Iglesias.

Another reason for the disparity is likely to be that most top female sports involve way too much training/travelling/competing, ie. tennis and athletics, whilst the male dominated motor racing and footballers have much more time to swan about.

Successful sportswomen don't earn enough money to hang out in the kinds of places where vacuous pop totty is to be found. Successful sportsmen do.

I get the vague impression that sportswomen tend to get involved with sportsmen -- either the not-on-the-top-rung-so-also-unable-to-afford-to-hang-out-at-trendy-nightspots type or the fundamentally-uninterested-in-allegedly-vacuous-totty type. But I have no specific information to back that up.

Also suspect that this means they end up happier with their personal lives in the long run, but ditto.
