I'm off abroad for a week soon taking my two month old. Dh is driving me to the airport but I'm getting the train back and then plan to geta taxi the last 30 odd miles

But what would you do about a car seat. I've been trying to find a rank that will provide one but all I get is we're exempt. To which I feel like replying what exempt from being run into by a lorry?

Anyway what would you do? Do phopne another stupid amount of companies in hope. Give up and strap him on my lap as has been suggested (I dont want to I would crush him). Give up and have him in a sling then just make sure my belt doesnt go round him. Any other options?

Um... not sure. Maybe leave a car seat with the taxi base and ask them to bring it with them when they pick you up? Get a friend to pick you up?

Can you take a car seat with you? Might you need it abroad too? Could be useful as a seat for DC while on the train too?

When I had a similar problem one of the taxi companies I spoke to said they'd happily keep my car seat for a week.

Don't think the sling would work tbh.

thanks for replies. I have a result. Tried a local company, was going to ask about leaving one with them >he said he only did long journeys but gave me a number for a large company I hadnt tried earlier who do have a seat I can use
yay

(my parents have borrowed a seat from a friend for me to use over there so I didnt want to have to cart one all the way there)
