KIA SPORTAGE 1995 2.0 PETROL ,WHITE, 5DORS, ELEC.WINDOWS, ELEC MIRRORS, IMMOBILISER, 4X4, GOOD RUNNER TIL HEAD GASKET GONE

Above is the advert. Have asked for more details, and its for sale for £100.

I am looking for a new car with more boot space then my yaris. The guy is saying to fix the gasket is estimated £300

What would you do? Avoid or go have a look at it?

I'd phone a garage to see how much it would cost to fix, I wouldn't take the seller's word about how much it would be.

I think I'd be looking for a car that actually goes really.

I'd avoid.. head gasket gone might have cracked the head or at best it will need skimming.

FigmentOfYourImagination · 15/05/2009 17:17

avoid

kias are shite. especially the first lot that were sold over here.

knackered head gasket.

there is no way i'd get rid of a new Japanese car for an old Korean car.

Often buggered head gaskets can mean a whole new engine. Not cheap.

TBH, I shouldn't think that the car, once fixed, assuming it does cost you £300, would be worth much more than £500 anyway.

Honest John review here.

Agree I had a car that the head gasket went three times, twice replaced with a new one, third time I just thought it was money down the drain.

Thanks

The yaris is a 1999 model, and starting to fail, it isn't worth much.

I think I will pass on the car, its a shame I can't afford a decent working car!!!!
