I thought they were on the verge of splitting up after he had an affair! Is 'expecting twins through a surrogate' an alternative way of saying he's knocked up his mistress?

She does have a rock hard body. Twin girls when she has always droned on about how much she wants a little girl to pass all her clothes on to is very, erm, fortunate?

But she has a child already that was born during STAC being on TV still so I doubt that would be her reason ( if this is indeed true)

But she's about 45 now so the chances of having another baby without some pretty hefty intervention is unlikely. Is it just me who suspects that most of Hollywood "adoptions" are just a polite name for surrogacy - can't believe that there are that many children available to middle-aged, single women. At least she is being upfront about it.

They have one child born some years ago - her figure/career obviously wasn't an issue then. Sounds to me like they have been struggling with secondary infertility and have chosen this as their route. I hope all goes well for them all.

Suzi - that is a staggeringly stupid remark! Why don't you pop over to the conception boards and spout that line - I think you'll get a robust response! Conception doesn't mean you will carry to term and we know NOTHING about what has happened here - excpet that two people are going to become parents thanks to the selfless actions of another woman. How about we try celebrating that, and encouraging them, as we would if it were one of our friends - instead of bitching!

Have been on the infertility boards myself once

NL wasn't bitching. morningpaper suggested that SJP was using a surrogate to keep her body intact, and NL pointed out that as SJP had already had one pregnancy at the height of her career she (SJP) obviously didn't think that figure/career were good reasons for not getting pregnant, so secondary infertility was a more likely explanation.

A good friend, who has a DS the same age as mine has had eight miscarriages since I got pregnant with DD (we were originally pregnant at the same time again). Perhaps you'd like to ask her your staggeringly sensitive question?

FWIW, the best answer the specialists can come up with in her is "probably some immune factor that we don't know enough about to be able to pick up on the screening tests yet; if we give you a massive dose of steroids every month then it MIGHT help"

I read that she chose a surrogate as she was having problems concieving. Apparently this was putting a great strain on her marriage which is why he had an affair.
Good on them- they are thrilled and back on track apparently.
