Please, please if anyone has seen a loved looking lion(was once a plush looking soft toy) I think it was from John Lewis, as I have a distraught dd and almost as distraught dh!

Lost it today somewhere inbetween Debenhams and M&S.
Thank you.

Oh no have you rung lakeside to see if it's been handed in? Also try giving Debenhams and M&S a call too - he may be sitting on one of their tills waiting for you.

Flynnie · 26/04/2009 16:19

Thanks. I have tried all that. We went back to all of the stores about 20 minutes after we lost it.
They all have my number but no luck.
It looks like someone picked her up and didn't hand her in.

Poor dd is not taking it well!

Still no luck? Try ringing Lakeside again.

Flynnie · 27/04/2009 14:01

Dh went back to Lakeside today and found out that a sales assistant had seen a little girl and her mother pick it up and walk away with it!
Really don't know why someone would take someone elses toy but oh well.

Thank you anyway.

do you have a photo of it and we can see if we have one lurking at home somewhere?

Flynnie · 27/04/2009 14:16

Thanks GM.
its not a great pic though!

Can't believe someone would take it and not hand it in. Fingers crossed that it's a mumsnetter and she sees this.

GossipMonger · 27/04/2009 21:03

Where is the photo?

I have a lion that she could have which could be your lion's long lost cousin!?

Flynnie · 28/04/2009 08:00

Thank you both.

GP that is really sweet of you, however dd has told me over and over that she only wants her Kitty when I suggested getting another one.
So unless it ends up on ebay it will just have to one of those hard lessons that all children(and parents) go through!

photo??

GossipMonger · 28/04/2009 08:09

sorry - seen it now!

where did you buy it from originally?

Flynnie · 28/04/2009 08:17

Thats the thing..I haven't really got a clue. I think it was a present from someone a few years ago and poss from John Lewis, but I'm not sure.

I know most people think that its silly to be this upset over a toy, but so far we have had a few hours worth of tears and she still thinks its going to turn up.

I know what a pain it is. My baby girl lost her "Pinky" Winnie the pooh blankie in lakeside on friday, the day before you? On our way out of the M&S kitchen in Brompton walk. She had it one minute then gone the next? Bizzarre!

Sh'e desperate. Screaming herself to sleep. sad thing is I'm just as devastated.

I so hope you find your lion. Fingers crossed for lion and pinky's return!

Flynnie · 29/04/2009 10:13

Oh Claire how .

I know what you mean because of what the toys mean to them you end up feeling like you've lost a family pet(daft I know).

I hope that the blankie turns up. Did you try all the stores?

ClairesyLiz11 · 30/04/2009 09:39

I know just what you mean.

Tried the surrounding shops around M&S but no further. I'll pop back in person next week. Makes you feel like putting up wanted posters doesn't it?

Girl on customers services desk said "Oh, doesn't she have another spare one?" hmmmm.

Hope your little one's doing ok?

savoycabbage · 02/05/2009 04:23

Have you phoned John Lewis? Even if they can't help you at least if you knew where it was from it would make it easier to find another one.

Keep trying e-bay. My dd2 had a comfort blanket that was a bandana from River Island bought in 2001......I looked on British and American e-bay every four days until I found one! Then I bid £250. I got it for 99p though.

Flynnie · 02/05/2009 07:52

Claiire, I saw on your other thread that you may have a replacement. How fab, your dd is going to be over the moon.

Savoy, I have been looking on ebay, amazone and evey toy store every day, still no luck but I will keep trying.

These stories of happy endings are giving me hope which is lucky as dd has not forgotten yet and we have tears at least once a day for 'Kitty'.

Ah Thank you! think I'm getting addicted as I keep searching ebay every day in case her lost one turns up for sale!!

Am keeping my eyes peeled for Kitty too.
