does lily allen make you want to pick at yr own flesh?

why am I finding her so irritating this time round? Have urge to throw shoe at radio / telly when she comes on

she never grated this much before. Well a bit, like when she sang that line about being on a bike cos the filth took away her license. But why so much now?

She comes across as quite likeable whenever I've heard/read/seen her being interviewed. I liked her chat show, too.

I hate her music and her dress sense, though. I absolutely detest her new song. Grrrrr!

I don't not like her - I think she'd OK but I prefer 'old fart' music myself.

I think Myleen is a bit overexposed. I prefer her to the woman who did the Look 10 Years Younger before.

I know someone who went to really really posh schools (quite a few as she kept getting expelled) and she sounds like Irene Handle!

yeah - myleene ver irritating cos she is everywhere flogging you everything and that other 10 yrs younger woman was just bile personified.

think thing is with lily is even tho we prolly have quite similar tastes in music and clothes she just comes across as having no humility and thats why she grates. Too cocky and self obsessed. Tho of course all masking deep insecurities so bit harsh for me to throw shoes at her in my head

I was listening to the olds on Late Review prattling on about how deep and ironic her lyrics are and I laughed my head off. She rhymes money and funny. That's about as clever as it gets.

Oh I love her - don't care that the accent is fake and the rhymes are all a bit iffy. She's funny and sharp, doesn't take any shit and anyone who can write "Not Big" deserves our adulation.

I thought she looked lovely on the Sunday Night Project last night - not a fan as it happens, but she looked quite glowing (!) I wonder if the cockiness/toughness is a bit of an act tbh, I think she looks quite sensitive (God I'm getting too old, I'm coming over all motherly about young girls).

Am reading her dad's autobio at the mo, very funny.

I love the song but that line and her insistence on a glottal stop drives me crazzzzy!

She's irritating in the extreme, and that accent - FGS woman, shut UP with the mockney and start pronouncing your t's.

The line is ironic. The whole song is poking fun at the Heat culture of skinny fame-hungry celebs etc. It's not serious, FGS.

Lily has just lost a stone or so, so she has just become thinner herself

Yeah, I do sort of see your point. But what's the alternative - no irony/sarcasm in case it's lost on the listener?
