I like her and I'm sure she really was surprised to win and everything but...

...she did make a bit of a tit of herself, didn't she?

Ricky Gervaise came on stage to do something and said to KW "I told you you would have to be in a Holocaust film to get an award!" Ive been watching it on SKY.... I saw Jonathan Rhys Meyers and he looked AWFUL!!!! really really ill!! Nothing like he did in Bend it Like Beckham!

I must be the only one who didn't think it was that bad. I have a very low cringe tolerence, I always have to turn over if I'm embarressed for someone and yet I managed to sit through that just fine. If you watch the 2 speeches, the first one she got for The Reader is fine. I genuinely think she was very surprised to win the other one as well. Plus she was probably extra emotional as it was for the film that her Husband directed.

It was nowhere near as bad as Gwyneth Paltrow. And not a patch on Halle Berry. I had to put a cushion over my head when I saw their speeches!! Especially the Halle Berry one!

What I wanted to see was Angelina giving her death stare, as she did in an earlier awards ceremony.

And I think the child army numbers 7 sleepycat.

Cameron Diaz fluffed Angelina's name too, so that is her on the hit list!

I thought she was brilliant, so funny. I love Kate and can't wait to see the films nows.

Good to see the other brit from 'happy go lucky' win too. Great film.

She's getting better looking over the years, definitely. But her speech was cringy. "who's the other one?" quick pan to Angelina's 100 watt fake smile.

ok it must be overwhelming but must you be so ott..agree with whoever said it was like she was acting (but lol re angelina) -only came in as no 5 on radio poll of most cringy acceptance speeches -should have been higher imho.

takes away from fact she is a good actress - helen mirren/judy dench seem to manage dignified acceptance speeches so why can't she

Yeah Helen Mirren knows how to give a speech - When she won she said "I just nearly fell arse over tit" I believe. Now thats a speech eh?!

I have liked Winslett for ages but I hated this great self-regarding performance. Its just so me me me.

I think the only dignified way to go is to stand up, say thank you, blanket thank those who should be thanked and get OFF the stage.

Anything else makes you look like a hopeless/hysterical luvvie. Only rarely can you be very funny like Rickly Gervais.

Just be dignified, if you must cry, go up say thank you through sobs and SIT DOWN.

It's just too self important otherwise, All this hysteria betrays that she spends her life being cossetted and fussed over and given far too much coddling by all around her. It's just so unattractive.

Also have the Oscars all been voted for yet? I would be very wary of irritating all the academy members with a performance like this! They may now think, Angelina gets my vote so I don't have to watch La Winslett being so cringeworthy again!

AM I the only one who cant stand KW? She's so bloody fake and false, that speech was so prepared. I used to think she was so fab but all that I'm really just the girl next door thing - urghh can't stand her!!!

I think she was a bit pissed to be honest! If you watch the first speech she did at the beginning of the evening its ok. The GG's are different from other ceremonies as its like a dinner do. I think she won the first one, didn't think she would win the 2nd so she relaxed and had a couple of bevvies. It looked to me like when your mates get pissed and keep telling you how much they love you etc. . .

Will see what happens if she wins an Oscar. If its the same sort of reaction then its not cos of the booze! They don't have booze at the Oscars I don't think.

Maybe she's preggers again or something?! She did seem very emotional! Although I don't think her speech was anything like as awful as Halle Berry's or Sally Field's etc. . They were diabolical!

it looked like acting, is it happening, brace myself etc was so funny. dont let her have oscar please ver, dont want see her doing this again.
