Used to think she was ok but she seems to have gone very Daily Mail of late.

SoccerMum · 04/01/2009 21:11

SO they dont even choose their 'specialised subject'? Anyone else shocked that Mick 'Fugly' Hucknall wasnt an expert on Matisse?

ohdearwhatamess · 04/01/2009 21:20

VD was in the year above me.

NotanOtter · 04/01/2009 21:23

soccermum - not very bright was he?
i felt his choice was a wee bit 'affected'

Thoroughly baffled now. Wikipedia has her being 4 years older than me, not 1.

NotanOtter · 04/01/2009 21:51

ooh will check

No problem, Otter, I also know many sneakily-sneaky ninja moves in case you need them.

WhatSheSaid · 05/01/2009 04:34

Someone told me she was year below me but she must have been 3 years above me (according to age on Wiki.)

I think she had a younger sister, maybe she was the year below me.

HolidaysQueen · 05/01/2009 09:44

Ah - whatshesaid and whatamess - this is like a BGS Anonymous club! I was there too but looks like she is 8 years older than me so we didn't overlap. Anyway, I was always dubious of the school claiming pride in her as an ex-pupil so read the latest news with exasperation...

ohdearwhatamess · 05/01/2009 10:04

Small world. There is another BGSer who is a regular on here too.

Perhaps I'm confusing her with her sister. That could explain why her photo now looks nothing like I remember her.

UnquietDad · 05/01/2009 10:23

I think a lot of them choose their own subjects. For example Philippa Gregory must have done - that era is her subject after all.

But it's always a tradition in MM (even the normal rounds) to start off with a "soft" question which is basically a variation on "where was your subject born?" or "what was their first name?" And some of the slebs even got those wrong!

Tim Vine got Elvis questions wrong to which the answers were "Graceland" and "Colonel Tom Parker", which you would have thought were the two things even people who are non-Elvis experts would know...

NotanOtter · 05/01/2009 21:12

VD did have a younger better looking sister

Unquietdad the general knowledge questions that the Corrie woman ( who won) had were farcical

It was like a primary quiz

Blimey, lrichmondgabber - what the hell were you searching to find such a random old thread?!

Still, looks like OP has another willing wing-(wo)man now.
