what really gets my goat is that they are making a big fuss over the fact that russell left messages about sleeping with andrew sachs' grandaughter - ok, a for andrew sachs im sure but she is in the paper today describing her conquest with brand and whats more saying he was crap in bed!!! surely more embarrassing for grandad then a silly phone message!

I think its the fact that he is nearly 80yrs old and a call like that could have caused him harm more than embarrassment.

should never have been broadcast. Ridiculous that it was considering it was pre-recorded. Radio 2 must have been in a coma not to keep a much closer eye on everything RB broadcast, he sails incredibly close the wind in every show. I'm a massive fan and I'm really going to miss the programme.
But of course these calls were not ok at all, not to a real person's amachine about his grand daughter. Whether she's a strumpet or not is not relevant, it's taunting an elderly man which is a repugnant thing to do. A bizarre lapse of judgement on JR's part although he is just so desperate to push the envelope these days that he's forgotten himself!
Real shame all round.

I am curious how many would feel the same if it was your 79yr old grandad that this had been done to. Would you all see it as a joke gone wrong then? Personally I think R.B and J.R need to do a lot more apologising to the family, regardless of what the grand-daughter is or isn't the person this was directed at is an old man and this could have had serious repercussions on his health to say the least.

rehashing old news i know- but how many are aware that A.S was actually played the recordings before they went on air and gave his consent........
