I'm going to Brancaster Staithe soon. What do you like about it?

Never been before. Long weekend.

I always go in the summer. The White Horse is good, I’ve never had a bad meal there. Lovely seafood.

Thanks we have The White Horse booked, hoping not all seafood as DH not a lover

The White Horse absolutely. The smoked fish shed in the car park. Dalegate shops etc

Wrap up warm. That wind off the North Sea can be perishing.

Lovely walks nearby at Holkham Beach, Holkham Hall, Wells next Sea. Mix of beach and pinewoods.

Nice pubs/restaurants are Orange Tree in Thornham, The Hero in Burnham Overy Staithe, The Globe in Wells. Lovely fish and chips in Wells and nice deli/bakeries. Ooh and Eric’s pizza nr Thornham, lovely cosy teepee with fire and fairy lights and amazing pizza

Ericsson fish and chips are sublime. I don't eat fish, but the arancini are phenomenal

Definitely sit on the sea wall and eat fish and chips at wells. The view is gorgeous.

Don't know how to edit. It's Erics

Coast path walk, look up the coasthopper bus if you don’t want to do an out and back and get it to your starting point and walk back

This is my neck of the woods. Definitely must try Thornham Deli.

Do visit Drove Orchards in Thornham - The Old Store is excellent for breakfast/lunch etc, there's some nice shops to mooch in, Cider Barn Antiques is great, the farm shop is very good. Going against the grain, but we don't rate Eric's Fish and Chips at all - we were excited when Thornham got a chippy, but it's substandard, we kept going for convenience but have broken the habit and will drive to Hunstanton now instead - we like Henry's. Eric's Pizza is decent.

The White Horse at Holme is also an excellent choice food wise.

If you’re talking a bit further afield, I really like a visit to Norfolk Lavender although I don’t think there’d be any lavender to see now. I prefer Brancaster beach or Heacham to Holkham simply because of the walking!

If you try any of the local Burn Valley wine while you're at the White Horse then the vineyard is only a 15min drive away to stock up. Looks like they're still doing some tasting sessions over the winter too.

Walk through Cley village, windmill and church. Lots of birds if you're into that (we are, and the whole area is amazing for birdwatching). Beach walk at Holkham, look out for seals. Boat trip to see the seals - there should be pups too.
