Is a 'small single' bed large enough for an adult?

This is for a combination guest room and study.

We do have another room with a king size bed which can be used by couples visiting, but the intention is that this would be a daybed kind of structure in a small study, used occasionally when a single person staying, maybe at short notice.

They are normal length but 75cm wide rather than a normal single which is 90cm. I could fit a normal one in, but it's then quite cramped in the room, and the main use is a study.

At first I thought it would be too small for a large adult, but actually it's half of a king-size bed, so perhaps it's fine? Any experiences?

Personally I wouldn’t want to sleep on a small single and I am only little myself. I do have a super king at home though so used to plenty of space. I used to have a futon in my office for additional guests when needed, it was a small double when laid flat and very comfy, could that be an option for you

Fine. I sleep on a 2ft9 bed when visiting my DPs, no problem at all.

One of life's small joys is stretching out in bed, no one wants to be cramped up and uncomfortable.

Depends on the size of the person, i am 5ft so I would be fine and dandy but someone taller or broader might struggle, what about a double sofa bed ?

How often is it going to be used? I’d just get a double blow up bed if it’s just for things like Christmas when you have three people staying over. It also means that you could have two couples over to stay if needed. Much better to have a spacious study for the majority of the time if that’s its primary use.

Absolutely fine. When I was much younger I frequently shared a single, ah the joy of young love and being away from home.

My bed is a double but I stay right on my side all night, never wake up ⬆️ n the middle of the bed. 🛌 would be more than ok with sleeping on a single bed.

a small single is fine for a one off but it’s not ideal for longer stays. i was afraid to move and couldn't turn over that easily, a shuffle more than a roll over.

Honestly just get a fold out single sofa bed or similar. Some really good ones available and then you have. Single armchair you can use and don’t lose all your space in the study.
I sleep in a standard single and it’s fine but wouldn’t want anything narrower and I’m a slim woman.

I recently spent a night in a small single - length is fine but I was conscious I might fall out if I moved too much. I did sleep but it really wasn't pleasant or restful. The second night I slept on the floor!

Siennadollface · Today 09:10

It's fine for guests as a one off. I assume you're not forcing them to stay 🤣

A small single is ok for a child but I probably wouldn’t stay again after the first night.
