Is anyone else making the most of this gloomy weather and bonus hour?

Brunch: left over Domino's
Dinner: Full blown roast - beef brisket, sweet potato mash, Yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese, broccoli, roasted carrots, roast potatoes (and corn on the cob requested by Dsis)

Looking forward to seeing everyone else's plans for future inspo x

I’ve had a bowl of homemade tomato soup with a crusty roll, DH is having a jacket potato with homemade coronation chicken.

Full roast beef Sunday lunch for 10. We are having roast sirloin, roast and mash potato, Yorkshire puds, cauliflower cheese, roasted carrots, broccoli, cabbage and by special request pigs in blankets! All followed by choice of homemade trifle or lemon cheesecake with raspberries.

Cullen skink and home made bread today.

Yesterday finished off some roast squash with puy lentils and potato wedges.

Lunch - crusty loaf and German meat and cheese selection
Dinner - roast chicken, roast tatties, peas, carrots, sage and onion stuffing for OH, oatmeal stuffing for me, lots of nice thick gravy
Pudding is Phish Food ice cream but looking at the weather apple crumble and custard would have been more appropriate 😅

We always have something roast or roast adjacent on Sundays.
Monday is our soup day, usually - although last week was slow cooker beef casserole

Empress13 · 25/10/2026 16:00

Pork chops (huge from butcher with nice crackling) mash, sprouts, carrots and gravy with home made apple sauce 🤤

Waitingfordoggo · 25/10/2026 16:02

It’s not that cold where I am- it’s been sunny all day but with strong winds. But I’ve made a lasagna which I rarely do cause I’m lazy. Must be feeling the benefit of the extra hour I guess.

psychodacat · 25/10/2026 16:05

We had eggy crumpets and bacon for breakfast and then cabbage, mushroom and potato soup for lunch with homemade bread for lunch which was delicious.

Italian meatballs for dinner.

murasaki · 25/10/2026 16:10

That soup sounds lush, I am going to make mushroom and tarragon this week.

Meadowfinch · 25/10/2026 16:14

Homemade tsatziki and warm pittas for lunch.

Tonight, chichen cooked in ras-al-hanout, with wholemeal couscous and greens, followed by apple pie & greek yogurt.

LilyBunch25 · 25/10/2026 16:19

Lamb stew 🥘

ThreeB · 25/10/2026 17:03

@psychodacat would you be willing to share that soup recipe please? It sounds fab

TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow · 25/10/2026 17:20

Chicken Pillau, chopped salad with an olive oil and lemon dressing, plain yoghurt on the side.

Dinner - lamb casserole, potato, broccoli and carrots from yesterday.

eta - breakfast of toast and homemade hummus with grilled cherry tomato’s. I love the tomato’s and eat 10 of them for breakfast ever day of the year. At 68 I’m told I have lovely skin and I put it down to the tomato’s because my skin care routine is soap and water on days I wear make up and only water on the days I don’t.

DelilahBucket · 25/10/2026 17:33

Dinner is summering, Rick Stein's Viennese Goulash. Lovely warming stew.

A lot of my favourite things there, especially the desserts! Hope you enjoyed 🙂

Toad in the hole with onion gravy and mash.

mindutopia · 25/10/2026 18:58

Ds and I went to the beach today (Dh and dd away hiking over half term). We had cold meats, cheese and crackers for lunch on the beach with homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Tonight is stir fried noodles with boiled eggs, kimchi, duck spring rolls, cucumber salad and possibly some more cookies for pudding. Nothing special just mostly trying to use up things in the house.

EwwSprouts · 25/10/2026 19:00

Dinner is chicken stir fry with noodles in Laksa broth (M&S fridge sauce).
