Is anyone else making the most of this gloomy weather and bonus hour?

Brunch: left over Domino's
Dinner: Full blown roast - beef brisket, sweet potato mash, Yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese, broccoli, roasted carrots, roast potatoes (and corn on the cob requested by Dsis)

Looking forward to seeing everyone else's plans for future inspo x

I'm making thai chicken noodle soup for lunch and chilli con carne loaded wedges for dinner. Craving spicy stodgey carbs! Yours sounds lovely but I'm too lazy to do a roast today 😂

veryvanessa · 25/10/2026 11:28

I’ve made Christmas cake!

FieryA · 25/10/2026 11:29

Egg curry with rice.

I did a mini roast last night... might make another today if I CBA.

Beef stew.
Roasted butternut squash with pulled beef and chimichurri sauce.

WhitstablePearl · 25/10/2026 11:33

Tartiflette. Perfect autumn one-pot meal

Flannelfeet · 25/10/2026 11:34

I made a pot of chicken and rice soup at 6am this morning and now I have Devon steaks braising in the oven for dinner to go with mashed potatoes, cauliflower cheese and veg.

HurdyGurdy19 · 25/10/2026 11:35

Bacon roll for breakfast.

Amazing sausage roll from the farm shop for lunch

Shepherd's Pie for dinner, followed by fruit crumble and custard

Rest of the week will be porridge for breakfast, and probably soup and crusty bread for lunch.

Tuesday dinner = corned beef srew
Wednesday dinner = Bourbon Chicken and veg
Thursday dinner = sausages and mash
Friday's dinner = home cooked fish and chips

ThreeB · 25/10/2026 11:36

currently making mince in red wine for dinner and we’ll eat it with hot buttered toast

ToadRage · 25/10/2026 11:36

My husband has a roast in the slow cooker and a spagbol on the hob which we can decant into tubs and freeze for later in the week.

IsaDrennansoitis · 25/10/2026 11:38

Bacon and egg bagel for brunch (dh cooking now) and roast chicken, honey roasted ham, roasted potatoes and veg for dinner later.

That mince in red wine sounds divine!

auraamber · 25/10/2026 11:46

Cooking -
cheese and herb subway style bread rolls
tomato and roasted garlic soup
minced beef and onion pie

reluctantbrit · 25/10/2026 11:49

Normal breakfast of greek yoghurt with oats and fruit
Lunch: bacon sandwich for me and leftovers from yesterday's dinner for DH
Dinner: roast lamb with roast potatoes and green beans

Afternoon oat muffins

AutumnLeaves1983 · 25/10/2026 12:01

I’ve got lots of salad that needs using and it’s not inspiring me. Over the summer I’ve been having big salads for lunch every day (and really enjoying them) but I just automatically bought the same amount and now really regretting it. Will be moving to soup for lunches from next week. We’re having salmon and roasted Mediterranean veg for dinner, so at least I have that to look forward to.

whatwasthatnoise · 25/10/2026 12:28

Currently getting blasted by Storm Boelo and hoping the power doesn't go out 🤞
Not sure what's for lunch. I need to see what's in the fridge. Might have oatcakes and cheese, unless I find some soup in the freezer.
Tonight we're having macaroni cheese with bacon lardons. And wine.
I'm going to get the kids to help me bake some brownies and maybe some little fairy cakes.

shellyleppard · 25/10/2026 12:29

Making a pasta bake with leftover Bolognese sauce from the freezer.....lazy as but everyone will be fed which is the most important thing.
I've started making double the recipes so we always have a meal (or three) on standby in the freezer

MyCatsSlave · 25/10/2026 12:31

Making a big pot of chilli with chunks of beef rather than mince, going to serve with rice, tortilla chips, sour cream, cheese and macerated onions. Comfort food with plenty left over for work dinners as I’m on late shifts this week.

murasaki · 25/10/2026 12:32

Been to the butcher, so chicken parcels stuffed with sage and onion stuffing and wrapped in bacon, roast potatoes, tenderstem broccoli and gravy.

Oh lovely!
Every single one of these posts sound awesome and delicious.
I've really missed cooking throughout the summer.
It was all salads, stirfrys and Bbq'ing

Yes, I much prefer autumnal dinners! Tomorrow I'm doing this, with flatbreads not rice.

DanaScullysLegoHair · 25/10/2026 12:59

I had a bacon sandwich with 1/2 a tin of tomatoea for dipping for breakfast.

Dinner will be sausages, mashed potatoes and veg with gravy.

Relying on using my air fryer as the oven is broken. Only the hob works and sausages are easy to chuck in the air fryer drawer. I did chicken breasts wrapped in foil last week as our Sunday 'roast'. Worked really well, no mess!

We have a gousto arriving tomorrow for the week and I think I have chose a meal similar to what you are planning x

I do like gousto, it's taught me to be bit more adventurous. We keep the cards in a binder and remake quite a few of them.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 25/10/2026 13:04

I’ve got the house to myself this weekend, so don’t have to worry about feeding anyone else. Brunch today was a bowl of raspberries and blueberries with Greek yoghurt, honey and pumpkin seeds. Dinner will be a pork loin steak with apple sauce, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and a Yorkshire pudding.

Chickadee26 · 25/10/2026 13:06

Beef stew and dumplings.

FridayNighFeeling · 25/10/2026 13:07

Macaroni cheese with bacon bits mixed in and tomatoes on top - nicely grilled with cheese and garlic bread.

Tomorrow will be more Sundy dinner like: beef and ale pie, roasties, carrots and broccoli
