Tell me you have kids without telling me you have kids

I have a rotating spice rack permanently living in my bathroom. All of the jars are filled with different coloured water and disintegrated crayon remnants.

Guess their ages (2 children) if you're feeling lucky. I'll try and guess yours, too! (When I'm not busy changing the old spice rack crayon water with new crayon water)

I couldn’t work out whether my bedsheets were covered in poo or chocolate earlier

Emptied my coat pocket of multiple pieces of tree sap precious golden gems 😊

On my own in Sainsbury’s once, I accidentally collided with another shopping trolley being wheeled round the corner and exclaimed in a jolly voice “Oops, bump!”. Blush

I've done this kinda thing too many times now and it's only getting worse 😭 I automatically say "love you, bye" to anyone I interact with now.

Food disappears VERY quickly in our house.

Same but it's me

Everytime I get to work and check in my bag I see that my son has put his toy cars and nerf bullets in there for me "so I don't get bored". My daughter also put her birthday badge in last month so I could "show everyone it was her birthday". I would miss it if they stopped though lol

I navigate the upstairs rooms through a hazy mist of Lynx Africa and yesterday relearned the minimum legal tread depth of a tyre. I carry my belongings around in a collection of free university tote bags.

My mum did this when I went to uni haha

Content warning

I have to supervise the removal of knob cheese in the morning (or it doesn't get done and there are physical problems later).

😖

Oh my 😩 I can only hope I'm never in your shoes but I definitely would guess kids from that! Loool

I play board games, do crafts or colouring before 7am.

There are mini packs of tissues and wet wipes and a mini snack in every bag and car.

I currently spend around 3 hours a day on jigsaws

I'm constantly online looking for shoe/boot sales and Old Navy sales for clothes.

When a see a small truck thingy in the city centre slowly driving along the side of the road cleaning the gutters I think "Oh theres a noo noo" and I want to tell someone.

Just tell the person closest to you. I can't imagine who wouldn't be delighted to hear that, I for one would be

The only thing I'm sick of more than doing jigsaw puzzles is looking for cheap ones to buy

I pulled a handful of sticks out of my rucksack in a meeting.

Sandwich bags full of random crap. One with conkers, one with yoyo bear fruit thingy cards, one with stones. Just sandwich bags everywhere!

SometimesTheIntrusiveThoughtsWin · 20/10/2026 21:28

Food disappears at an alarming rate. DS1 (underweight) frequently mentions we are out of snacks.

hhheeyyyy · 20/10/2026 21:29

And from the bigger one a mound of stuff hung on the corner of her bedroom door. Oodies and then blazers, ties, dressing gowns, jackets, just all piled up ready to come crashing down.

My living room carpet is multi-coloured... it wasn't when I bought it.

Me too 😭

I've been listening to tuneless strumming and helping to sew on an elf's arm. The elf is called Bill.

Good one!
I've got stones, leaves and conkers in my jacket pocket and have to empty them from the dc's pockets before laundry. 😵‍💫

OhBettyCalmDown · 20/10/2026 21:33

I have three Tupperware boxes labelled and full of ‘important’ stones.
