No, some of us just hate it.
I'd have been happy just to do it the twice it took to conceive my kids.

You are me 😂😂

With respect, you don't know they will be completely independent. It seems the poster you replied to thinks there should be two categories (although I may be wrong).

What about those of us who are intelligent and look normal but aren't at all independent because we're too exhausted to work full time? I will be working four hours this week and that's a struggle. I'd say that people like me make up the majority of the autism community but because we fall in between those very polarised groups, a lot of us are living in fear the whole time because we can't work and we can't claim PIP.

You’re fine to be on here though?

At least their honest and get to the point no faffing around with feelings.

People who are too stupid to know the difference between there, their and they're shouldn't be contributing to online discussions.

Also people who believe in this quackery need to realise that people are absolutely silently judging you as an idiot and just not saying anything. As soon as I hear someone come out with either anti vax, conspiracy theories - that’s it- you know exactly what you’re dealing with. But they actually try to convince you of their theories. Believing in a faked moon landing - you might as well go around announcing you’re a moron. No one is thinking you’re clever except fellow idiots.

Absolutely, these people think - somehow - they're more clever and better informed than all these scientists, aeronautical engineers, coders, biochemists etc?
Arrogance and stupidity intertwined.

My kids aren't overweight but if we're having a Chinese takeaway then I'm not going to exclude them. Who the hell would do that? Or do you think having the odd takeaway leads to obese kids?

See this is another thing that annoys me. The odd cigarette isn’t THAT bad for you, but I wouldn’t let my kids do that either.

RanyaJerodung · 13/10/2026 16:13

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 13/10/2026 16:11

Didn't someone at NASA point out it was cheaper to actually go to the moon than fake it?

Yes, that really amused me!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 13/10/2026 16:14

Bottlefeeding isn't as good for babies as breastfeeding is.

TremendousFlatulence · 13/10/2026 16:14

People who think 'a bit' and 'a lot' are one word are more stupid than single cell organisms at the bottom of a stagnant pond. See also 'should of' and 'could of' etc.

Nothungrycat · 13/10/2026 16:14

The state of Israel has the right to exist
Women have the right to single sex spaces
"Gender" is made up bollocks which started being used as a polite way of saying "sex" and has gone far too far
Dogs shouldn't be allowed in any place that sells food, except for service dogs
Service dogs are not the same as emotional therapy dogs - the former are rigorously trained by professional bodies and the latter aren't
Getting older isn't something to be feared - its a privilege
Chocolate with palm oil in it tastes foul and contributes to the destruction of rain forests and therefore the death of orangutans

It's hardly mentally taxing is it? If I could get a job writing drivel then I could work I suppose, but they're not really available.

Of course they are, and I will die on the hill that everyone has a bit of nasty in them but ultimately there is often truth in that ‘nasty’ and forcing them to bottle it up leads to much worse things than a thread

But why do so many 'hills I will die on' have to be nasty ones?

These threads are always designed to attract a certain kind of poster and whip up a bit of hate/meanness, and never fail to do so.

It would be nice to see a few more posters wanting to die on a hill of positivity, at least!

LapinR0se · 13/10/2026 16:15

Every (healthy) baby can be sleep trained. Not all of them will sleep through the night, but they will all sleep better.

tartyflette · 13/10/2026 16:15

“Biology is fixed and immutable but I don't care if other people disagree, I don't care what they call themselves or how they choose to present themselves, I don't care where they piss and I will do my level best to use their preferred pronouns and champion their dignity.”
The problem is when those who do disagree that sex is immutable try to fundamentally change how the issue is framed and presented so that we are not allowed to believe the evidence of our own eyes and are forced to comply with what are, in essence, lies. This is what ‘being kind’ has brought us to.
All men should be kept out of women’s safe spaces, for obvious reasons.

VickyEadie · 13/10/2026 16:06

It would require LOTS of people involved in faking it to keep their mouths shut forever. How likely do you think that was?

Given the fact that the Russians were desperate to be first, how likely is it that they wouldn't have at least suggested it didn't happen? (They never have done).

I am not saying I think it is likely that they did, just that I wouldnt be surprised if they had given how corrupt the US government was at the time (and every day since tbh!). Not the same thing.

I would agree that the Russians never claiming it to be faked is quite telling.

LapinR0se · 13/10/2026 16:15

In developed countries, the positive effects of breastfeeding past a few weeks are marginal and the overall health of the mother and the baby should be taken into consideration.

BillieWiper · 13/10/2026 16:17

I might be finding multiple versions of your corpse across various small mountain ranges as I'd strongly disagree with a couple of those 😂

Mine would be that you can't call margarine butter. Or rather that it should be outlawed to do so.

In fact margarine should be outlawed in general accept for in baking recipes. It cannot be spread on bread or toast or mixed into scrambled egg or anything! Arghhh!

Notgrowing · 13/10/2026 14:42

The first moon landing just dont add tbh.

That isn't true.

FlyingApple · 13/10/2026 16:17

Frazzled89 · 13/10/2026 15:55

That's anecdotal evidence. Is there actually any proof of this? Autoimmune disease runs in my family, as it tends to do, none of us tattooed. They are also much more common in women, and I'd bet that men have more tatoos than women although I haven't researched an actual source for that.

Of course it's anecdotal! I assumed @Thisisnottheone was intelligent enough to know that my family's experience wasn't being offered as scientific evidence. I don't imagine she needed anyone to point that out to her.

There is research into the links between tattoo ink and immune reactions.

Autoimmune diseases running in families doesn't rule out environmental contributors nor does knowing people with autoimmune diseases who don't have tattoos.

On the gender point, Yougov actually found tattoos are more common in women than men. Though I also personally believe there are other factors contributing to women having autoimmune diseases more often.

Tattoos are one potential contributing factor we can choose to avoid.

LapinR0se · 13/10/2026 16:18

Another one - there is absolutely no link between vaccines and autism. Zero.

Corrupt governments can still have significant technological and scientific achievements.

School.

*If 12-14 years of full time education qualifies you to do absolutely nothing, then this needs to be reviewed.

*A child's education will not suffer if they miss a week or two to go on holiday.

Dying on those hills with you. Though I don't think botox initially makes people look older, after time/migration it does, though. Think it makes many people look much worse, however, but each to their own.

My other hills I will be gladly dying on;

  • Changing gender is impossible and thinking you can do so is lunacy
  • Nobody actually likes matcha, it's just one big inside joke to make everyone else think they're losing their minds
  • Alcohol should not be served at kids parties under any circumstances (after a recent incident)

How does botox migrate, curious?

Another hill I’ll die on. All these adults who can’t possibly work 30 hours a week in a basic admin job, but are on here all hours of day and night writing long, complex and lucid posts. I mean we weren’t born yesterday.

Cadeaukatze · 13/10/2026 16:20

Agree with the posters saying dogs should be on short leads in public areas. And shops are not dog exercise areas. I didn't know they were allowed in McDonalds (but I don't go there anyway). I'd also ban those extendable leads unless you are training the dog.

Vans and cars should not go on pavements.

If there is even one private car in Central London not owned by a resident or blue badge holder, the congestion charge is too low.

I agree taking your husband's name is patriarchal but if you keep your own that was probably your dad's so is it actually any better? Even if you take your mum's name, that was probably her dad's name too. But at least going forward it sorts things out.

In the vast majority of cases, people do not need to take their kids out of school to go on holiday. There are 13 weeks holiday a year and private schools have even more.
