Padme dying when the twins were born ruins the conversation Luke and Leia have in the Ewok village. She talks about her mother, mentions her being sad, and he says 'I don't remember my mother'. He knows they are twins and she doesn't, so he's hearing about his mother for the first time. Or not according to the third prequel. I was absolutely convinced they'd faked her death up to the end of the film.

That's anecdotal evidence. Is there actually any proof of this? Autoimmune disease runs in my family, as it tends to do, none of us tattooed. They are also much more common in women, and I'd bet that men have more tatoos than women although I haven't researched an actual source for that.

I wouldnt agree that he knows that they are twins, he knows that they are siblings, and its not made clear that he knows their respective ages (he always came across as younger than Leia).

And as Leia can use the Force it could be that her "feelings" came from her mother during the birth and as she died, rather than remembering her in the usual sense.
