Some crimes there's no rehabilitation. Man who rapes his child, the one that murdered his wife just after searching on escort sites, jailed this week, the one that raped a women to death on a park bench. The gang rapists on Brighton beach. The man that raped the pensioner outside the church, Grooming gangs, murderers, John Worboys. Persistent criminals who just won't stop making peoples lives a misery (obvs very persistent). I don't believe in the death penalty but my tolerance along with frustration at Governments, police and judiciary I'm leaning towards let's get another island. We shouldn't have to live with these people.

Also moon landings happened.
Without vaccines a significant amount of those on here wouldn't be alive to post and yet the world still has anti-vaxxers, I don't get it.
Donald Trump isn't fit to be a local councilor and he's terrible at the job. MAGA is pathetic.
No pandering to any religion - circumcision is abuse male or female.
Transwomen have male pattern offending and for most it's a fetish.
Arresting/visiting people for a tweet is insane especially when I see some horrific tweets aimed at Jewish people and nothing happens.
Property investors from outside of UK should be banned and limited within UK.
Nothing will change about rape and MVAW because it's too big of a problem and too costly. See point one, shove them on an island.
Some on the left have gone so far they're now far right.
Spogs are the greatest sweet ever.
Audi drivers are terrible drivers.
This post is too long but I could go on.

And bicycles themselves should have license plates. It’s highly unsatisfactory that there is not a lot the police can do to prosecute cyclists who break the law, unless they are caught in the act.
But if the bikes themselves could be identified via a plate and traced to an owner via a log book or other record linking plate and owner details, as cars are, we would have far less red light jumping or cutting up of pedestrians on zebra crossings, for example.

It doesn't work for cars though, drivers still drive like idiots.

Yes many of the sign language development around the world can be traced from colonization or Deaf educational start ups. Like the first American school for the Deaf being established by a French Deaf educator.

British and Irish sign language are very different. Irish SL falls in the family tree with French and American SL while British falls in the BANZSL family language tree.

I'm glad i could help your evening reading 😂

Re French and Irish sign language being related, on a school trip, a friend of ours was able to "speak" to a random group of (deaf) French teenagers at a time when we were unable to communicate very effectively using our school French or their school English.

It was amazing to see actually. I remember she told us that it was because the two sign languages were close, but I hadn't realised (or maybe have since forgotten) that it was only because it was Irish sign language, and that BSL wasn't the same.

Cadeaukatze · 13/10/2026 18:12

With the Audi thing, are they set up in such a way that makes people drive badly, or does the marque attract worse drivers? Do we need a separate driving test for Audis (and SUVs)?

That's amazing! I love that.

My own BSL knowledge is confined to the alphabet but I would at least be able to sign/spell words out very slowly!

When the 'Union' is dissolved in the not too distant future, instead of reverting to England we should change the name of the country to something else and have a complete rebrand to shut the door on our unsavoury past and reflect a more modern & progressive country.

England's past is no more unsavory than any other country.

This is about as much social media as I do these days, please could you tell me what's happened in the past 24 hours?

Ukraine bombed a load of Russian bit farms. Suddenly the "right wing" bullshit lying posts have been A LOT quieter.

Social media - especially Twitter - was a wonderful place 20 years ago. I honestly believe it was Brexit / Trump that has given people the bravery to be utter cretins and say what they like.

And the last 24 hours has shown us quite how much if the evil on social media is actually coming from the Russian bots.

What makes you think they are Russian bots? Why Russian? You have proof of these Russians? Are they in the room with you now? Definitely Russian, yes?

Agree on Brexit and Trump. Trump second time has been a filthy nasty 'leader'

tha's why every child learning sign language is not a hill for me. I am not saying that all sign users should be forced to use the same, but for it to be made a school subject, a useful version needs to be defined.

Sorry if my statement was too broad to be clear.
What I mean is that British sign language should be required curriculum in British schools. (And likewise American sign language be required in American schools and so on) Not that every signed language should be taught, just like not every spoken language in the world will be practical or useful to British students.

But BSL is the natural language of Deaf British and should be taught in schools like English is. ❤️

Rabbitinahabit · 13/10/2026 18:15

Letting your kids get overweight is abuse (unless medical prob)
Gentle parenting is complete and utter tosh
Screens in a restaurant is shit parenting, no headphones is double shit parenting.
My dog just wants to say hello...put him on a lead you twat.
People who let off balloons for dead people are idiots.
People who drink until they vomit are disgusting.
People wanting stuff for next to nothing on Vinted.
Letting your toddler take everything out of the trolley onto the conveyer belt which takes 10 times longer to get through the till.

FlimFlamFlomFlipFlapFlop · 13/10/2026 18:16

I accept I will get flamed.

Home Ed Parents are smug and believe they are superior to others but put on a faux naivety when challenged about it.

People who stand outside Abortion Clinics hurling abuse at Women thoroughly deserve a smack in the gob and need to butt out of other people's business.

Vegans need to understand that if they want people to listen to them they not stop either talking in a condescending manner or screaming and shouting like a toddler. People want to be talked to not at.

There are 2 sexualities and 2 genders. The term CIS is bollocks. Trans Women are not Women, they are simply men wearing dresses. The word Bigot has now been cheapened by overuse and is also used incorrectly most of the time.

Anti Vaxxers call people sheep for choosing to vaccinate instead of following them and refusing to vaccinate, and fail to spot that this actually makes them the sheep. They also no doubt eat UPFs, Smoke, Vape, Inject stuff into their face and lips, have weight loss jabs, or tattoos or give their kids brightly coloured sweets and drinks full of god knows what.

Many kids that actually have Autism and ADHD don't get help due to Parents that are in denial and yet many parents shouting loudly that their kids have it either see it as a badge of honour or want money and a get out of jail free card for their shit parenting.

Boomers need to shut the fuck up with the Coffee and Netflix narrative, not only is it trite and clichéd, our local garden centre café which is hellishly expensive is rammed daily with pensioners who supposedly can't afford to heat their homes.

AnonyMumAuDHD · 13/10/2026 18:16

WhoGives2Fucks · 13/10/2026 14:33

Autism should be categorised differently.

The the difference between those who have kids, hold down a good job, run a house, have a partner and no one would know they had asd compared to those that won’t be independent is so vast that it seems utterly meaningless to use the same name. It’s not always due to LD either. Like saying apples pears are the same and they’re clearly absolutely not.

Agree. ‘Autism’ is so broad a ‘spectrum’ now that it no longer clearly conveys what it is.

Like the word ‘Cancer’. Huge spectrum of conditions underneath that term. Nobody just assumes they understand what type you have, what your prognosis is, or what your treatment options are. They actually take the bloody time to ask - do you want to talk about it and, if so, what type/stage is it, how is it impacting you … and do you need anything from me?

The whole "the moon landing was fake" thing......I never give it much thought, always just assumed that it was real. But thinking about the political scene at the time, the US was desperate to beat the USSR in the space race, how bent their government was in places, how important it was from a morale pov for the US population and how it placed the US in the world hierarchy, lets just say I wouldnt be massively surprised if it ever came out that it was faked.

people who were very far from the States - amateurs from many countries - were following and tracking the landings.

It's beyond belief that the US managed to persuade / bully / intimidate / bribe all those thousands of amateurs in many different countries that something had happened, that hadn't.

PrettyPickle · 13/10/2026 15:40

Oh now that's an interesting topic. I'm not saying these things keep me awake at night... ...but I'm not not saying it either.

  1. One size fits all. No, it doesn't. Unless we're all apparently the same shape as a medium-sized potato.
  2. Paying extra for sauce in a restaurant or chip shop. You've charged me £14 for a burger. Don't come at me for another 50p for ketchup.
  3. Toilet paper so thin you need half a roll per visit. False economy. We've all done the maths.
  4. Trout pout lips. Why are people voluntarily trying to look like they've kissed a vacuum cleaner?
  5. False eyelashes the size of loo brushes. If they generate their own weather system, they've gone too far.
  6. Fake tan that leaves people looking Tango'd. Nobody should glow brighter than a traffic cone.
  7. Drawn-on eyebrows that arrive ten minutes before the owner. At that point they're travelling separately.
  8. Decorative cushions. "Please make yourself comfortable." Removes 14 cushions before sitting down.
  9. Self-defrosting freezers that need defrosting. Especially when the engineer arrives and says, "Well, have you tried defrosting it?"
  10. Packets of nuts labelled 'MAY CONTAIN NUTS'. Do ya think?
  11. Artificial grass. Looks realistic for about two weeks. Then it resembles Astroturf outside a secondary school sports hall.
  12. People on speakerphone in public. Congratulations. We all know Sharon's had enough of Gary.
  13. Music played through a phone speaker on a bus. A public service nobody requested.
  14. Ripped jeans that cost more than intact jeans. Paying extra for less fabric is an economic mystery.
  15. Banana protectors. Nature already invented one. It's called a banana skin.
  16. Egg cookers. Unless you're feeding a hotel buffet, a saucepan was already doing an excellent job.
  17. Smart water bottles that remind you to drink. For several million years humanity successfully relied on something called thirst.
  18. Smart toasters. If your toaster needs Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a firmware update before it can brown a slice of Hovis... ...civilisation has peaked and begun the descent.

Every one of these i also agree with, bravo.

It's impossible to change sex. Gender is based on misogynistic and misandrist stereotyping

Reform, Restore and the Conservative right wing are the BNP with mildly better PR. The Greens and what's left of the Labour Momentum movement are just as bad.

Therescathairinmybath · 13/10/2026 16:59

Cheese and onion crisps should only be sold in green packets.
Salt and vinegar crisps should only be sold in blue packets.
Shampoo and conditioner bottles should be marked in big, bold writing.
Sprouts need to be kept in a separate dish at the other end of the table from me during Christmas dinner.

Totally agree. Salt & vinegar in green is so very wrong and yes why does shampoo and conditioner come in identical bottles?

I'd go a step further re sprouts and banish Christmas dinner completely who really wants all that crap. Give me a sarnie and crisps anyday.

"Boomers need to shut the fuck up with the Coffee and Netflix narrative, not only is it trite and clichéd, our local garden centre café which is hellishly expensive is rammed daily with pensioners who supposedly can't afford to heat their homes"

You are aware that just because the Baby Boomers generation were born within the same rather broad period, it doesn't mean they all have the exact same resources.

The ageism is something. If you're lucky, you might get to experience that one day yourself.

(Not a Baby Boomer myself but really dislike seeing such spitefulness)
