DS is ‘with his dad’ / ‘with my husband’

Sorry, random thought this morning… if you want to say that your child is currently with their dad who is also your husband, what do you say? I never can decide…if I say ‘DS is with his dad’ then I wonder if people think we’re divorced. If I say ‘he’s with my husband’ then it sounds like my husband isn’t his dad. If I say ‘he’s with my husband who is also his dad’ then I feel I’m awkwardly over explaining. I sometimes mix it all up now because I can’t decide what I want to say, last week I told someone that my 2-year old is ‘with his husband’ 🤦‍♀️

Stop over thinking. Your son is with his dad, job done.

Surely you dont mention your husband again as you've already said their dad?

I really did mention him again, and don’t call me Shirley

'With his dad' works in all scenarios, whether he's your husband, ex husband, partner, ex partner or just some bloke you had a one night stand with and got knocked up. There is really no need to explain any further unless it's pertinent / relevant. If people want clarification they can ask.

DH once asked me to say “His dad ….” to school because it sounded like weren’t married. He wanted me to say “My husband” which I thought sounded a bit pretentious. By that point school knew us really well, so I just said “Tom will drop off his PE kit later” from then on.
