I’m going to attempt this today, will perhaps sub a parsnip or two for carrots. I’ve got a soup maker though and will perhaps fry off the onions a bit first. And maybe add some butter beans afterwards because I do love my beans!

So I’ve made this recipe but as usual have gone off piste, used a pear and a carrot (in addition to the parsnips and apples) then also cumin, curry powder, paprika and yeast flakes. Huge amounts of black pepper and veg stock.

Lentil is my go to. Make with ham stock cubes for extra flavour.

I love my soup maker. One thing that is a really nice addition to recipes is a handful of Merchant Gourmet roasted chestnuts - they've added a lovely depth and smoothness to the soups I've made.

This sounds lovely !

Mine is the classic Morphy Richards one
10 years old now and still going strong
I think it was £30 ish but I got it on a Black Friday deal at about £27
DH got it down from the top cupboard and it will be in use at least twice a week until next May
Loooove soup 🌽🌶🫑🥔🥦

I dont have one that sautes but I just use leeks and a knob of butter , heat it up and then add the stock and rest of the veggies after a few minutes
Works fine
There are other posher brands available ☺️

I find Im wanting hot lunches now as soon as it gets cold
I should add when our cooker conked out I used it to make my porridge until the new one was delivered
