Lianna’s cauliflower cheese going in mine today.

Oooooh!!!!!!
Thanks for the recipe, absolutely going to make that
Edit
Would probably sub the onion for a leek as I prefer the flavour in soup

MOB kitchen chicken soup with lemon and orzo.
A Tuscan bean soup with butter beans and kale
lots of fresh grated Parmesan on top of both when serving!
I like a hearty chunky soup!

I've just bought one in the Prime sale!
Will be making cream of celery soup, my favourite.
I've just rehomed my cast iron pot as arthritis got the better of me, I was sad to see it go. Was going to buy a lightweight pan but saw the soup maker in the Prime sale.

DilemmaDelilah · 10/10/2026 09:58

I don't have a soup maker but my go-to soups are potato and leek, lentil, and French onion... apart from the many many soups I make out of leftovers or whatever needs using up. I don't think you could do French onion in a soup maker though, as the onions take a couple of hours to caramelise properly.

My mum had a soup maker and used it for tomato and red pepper soup.

ILoveKits · 10/10/2026 10:02

I make:
Carrot and coriander
Vichysoise
Chicken (Lokshen)
Mushroom
Courgette (with turmeric, leek and parmesan)

I just have a big saucepan but no problem if people prefer soup makers/slow cookers/bread makers/ice cream makers, etc.

I made 2 last weekend - a roast tomato and lentil and broccoli, leek and cannellini bean. I don’t have a soup maker but think I might invest in a Ninja blender, the hand blender is so messy!

I bought those Souper cubes from Amazon so I could freeze soups/meals into single portions for work lunches which has been v handy.

Ablian · 10/10/2026 10:15

Souper cubes or similar silicone cubes are great. They fit in. a mug to defrost apparently.

Today will be classic cheap lentil, bacon and tomato, assuming no one's eaten the leftover bacon for breakfast.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 10/10/2026 10:21

I just use a pan - don’t make many blended soups, the most common especially in winter is a multi veg (all chopped small) with one or more of red lentils, pearl barley, orzo. Or a minestrone with a tin of tomatoes and ditto butter beans.

Best in cold weather is a (non blended) risotto rice and red lentil soup - lots of ground cumin and coriander, fried onions and lemon juice stirred in at the end.

On 1st November however I will be turning the pumpkin I always put in the window into Thai style soup - onion, garlic, red chilli, ginger, coconut milk - stick blender in the pan.

brownbootsandhats · 10/10/2026 10:22

Did a carrot lentil and coconut one the other day

my soup maker looks like a pan with a separate blender but it’s the same really

I’m going to attempt this today, will perhaps sub a parsnip or two for carrots. I’ve got a soup maker though and will perhaps fry off the onions a bit first. And maybe add some butter beans afterwards because I do love my beans!

Parsnip and apple soup recipe

Parsnip and apple soup recipe

This delicious parsnip and apple soup combines tangy cooking apples and the sweetness from parsnips. A wonderful creamy winter soup.

My current fave is a Sarah Rossi recipe for Sweetcorn bacon and potato chowder. Thick garlicky and delicious.

I don't have a soup maker, but am posting anyway to say that last weekend i made lots of Turkish lentil soup for the freezer.
I have a very fond memory of parsnip and apple soup at the pub round the corner from uni 30+ years ago, so think I may try Snooks recipe this weekend and pray my memory was not fuddled by cheap lager.

I dont like frozen soup 😬
It has that 1970s old vegetable smell
Have tried many times and I like it fresh
Having said that its not an issue
I chuck it on and go off and its ready to go

I'm making roasted red pepper and tomato and then sweet potato and red lentil (though I don't have a soup maker!) I have just bought some of those souper cubes as they look perfect!

RosaNovella · 10/10/2026 10:53

Some lovely recipes so far
Im not above a bit of roasting or other prep first
Im thinking a batch of cheese scones might be in order and then we can have them for work lunches this week with the soup
I like some grated cheese and black pepper or a few splashes of Maggi seasoning in a potato based soup

I love soup season! I made carrot and coriander yesterday. I recommend cauliflower and horseradish. Sounds weird but they go together beautifully, the cauliflower goes creamy when blended.
I dont use a recipe and tend to chuck in whatever I've got vegetable wise with stock and a handful of red lentils to thicken. No two soups are ever the same! (I dont have a soup maker, do they chop up the veg??)

this sounds amazing.

YellowScarfRupert · 10/10/2026 11:09

Broccoli and Stilton - it’s the nicest soup, with a scattering of cheese and crusty bread

HeinousBeaker · 10/10/2026 11:11

I’m impressed by all these recipes! I use my
soup maker a few times every week once it isn’t summer any more but it mostly tends to be whatever is looking a bit sad in the veg drawer. I really fancy the cauliflower cheese one.

My usual go-to choices are leek and potato (with a lot of extra garlic!), French onion, or occasionally carrot or beetroot soup.
