Lighthearted - Save the discontinued product!

A few weeks ago I was looking for the block of Emmental I’ve been buying at my local Sainsbury’s for years. Wasn’t there. A helpful member of stuff showed me it had been moved to a section at the end of the aisle, together with what seemed to be an eclectic mix of items.

Today the exact same scenario happened and the poor Emmental wasn’t at the end of the aisle either. Very friendly member of staff tells me that when they go to the end of the aisle it’s pretty much game over for them. Next step is the product being discontinued.

Could I have saved the Emmental, I wonder? Had I purchased it aggressively over the last few weeks?

I guess we’ll never know. Off I trot to Lidl.

I'm still bitter about McVitie's Abbey Crunch and it's been decades.

Oh I'm adding Cremolia moisturiser. I think it was from Boots.

And condensed Cream of Sweetcorn soup, which made lovely tuna pasta bake.

Tesco used to sell frozen mushy peas. At Christmas M&S did tortilla chips coated in chilli chocolate. 😭😒.

Sainsburys have them, in individual packs.https://www.google.com/goto?url=CAESigEB6zswFZ_89MaDc8m26Ff1yn9YDC_bSiz-REA68t_OGJIuPZhgCrpHl-blytRzhmc491sTyIw1SvPd9nSDNFGUjzmNHxYw13DVflb0MdG7UdjXS3lWKvMLxPn49JeeIq57PgNeHH3ne6IFJ5KT6WHlzCZKPGhwrO70zgRSN-nkQ5E6PXCFFcnHmhE And Iceland sell bags of them.

Toast toppers, the saviour of many a late night after getting in from clubbing.

OMG yes! Used to love a toast topper - ham and mushroom was my favourite, if I remember correctly.

Me too.

I have tried lots of different ones but can't find anything the same 🥲.

M&S big slab of lovely cheddar cheese. Used to be £5. Then it went up to £6.50 about 6 months ago. Now has totally vanished. The other cheddar cheese in the smaller blocks isn’t the same cheese….. I am bitterly sad about it!

Can I go back to the late 70's 80's and save Spangles?

Fizzy hard boiled sweets the same shape the Tunes used to be

My dad used to buy those. Happy memories but murky colours 🤣

Food: the M&S Christmas edition of sugar and spice munch mix. They only made it for one year and I am gutted as it was perfect. I check every year just in case but it never comes back.

Other: the John Frieda shine shampoo and conditioner in the silver tubes and ELF under eye primer. Have never found a decent substitute for either.

Oh so many already mentioned are very much missed. Tootie Frooties!

Not a food stuff, but SR toothpaste. My dhs favourite as it didn't foam up loads and really cleaned his teeth.

Natrel Deo was brilliant. I can still smell it and remember how the outside of the can was sort of rough so didn't slip in my hand, especially after a shower.
Vidal Sassoon shampoo and conditioner in the brown bottles. I'm sure the company could bring them back.

Lidl did an instant coffee in a metal tin, one was cinnamon and the other I can't remember now, but they were so nice and I was so sad when they stopped stocking them.

Idahoan potato slices. Only bought them once in Poundstretcher before the local one closed. Was so surprised at how nice they were once cooked.

Never ever found them again, probably discontinued. 😫

MurphysColeslaw · Yesterday 11:27

Sainsbury’s used to do a lemonade that didn’t have artificial shite in it,
wish that would come back.
