Russian escalation on NATO country anticipated?

I’ve just read this and find it quite alarming. Is this just more of the same hand waving about Russian aggression? Or does this really signify an escalation in war tactics?

Selfishly hoping it isn't via Estonia because DS2 is studying there at the moment. Aware that he might need to make a rapid exit if Russia move on Narva in the East of the country.
