Should I reach out first after doing a trial shift?

Hi all.

So I did a trial shift at a bakery/cafe last night. I worked from 5pm-11pm. I basically just shadowed the other baker and they were showing me round the kitchen and I helped make a few of the cakes.

I haven't heard anything from today though. I just would have thought they would have reached out to me by now considering I did a 6 hour shift. Do you think I should contact them first or wait till they contact me.

Thanks

Hope they were paying you?

Any chance it was free labour they were after?

Surely other people will be doing a trial shift too? They will then choose after everyone’s done a trial shift? I would expect hear the day after unless they said they would?

From the sounds of it, she would have actually slowed the process down whilst they were showing her how. Not a criticism of the OP as everyone needs to learn.

The job is for 2 days a week and the other baker does 1 day. It's basically just making all the cakes for the week. There were 6 cakes to be made and I made 3 following the recipies and the other baker made the other 3. Ijust find it a bit odd they haven't made any attempt to contact me. The cakes that I made turned out well
