Malvern pubs - very specific question

Doing about 12km around Malvern with DD and DH on Thursday and I don’t want to have to trail around a load of pubs to find somewhere suitable.

Please can someone with local knowledge recommend a pub that does simple food like beef cobs, cheese and onion cobs or sandwiches rather than just proper meals.

Preferably one that sells decent beer too.

The greater Malvern part please as I will be parking near the park/registry office

Many thanks

I haven’t actually been in, but there’s a Black Country ales pub called the old royal library and all their pubs tend to do cobs/sausage rolls etc.

What I do when trying to work this sort of thing out, is go into google maps, put my route in and then zoom in and see what the pubs are on the route and try to scour each website

This is not foolproof. Im so fed up of pub websites. They rarely say when they're open or what time the kitchen is open if its not the same time as their opening hours. They sometimes dont even have a website but a facebook page which tells you nothing or instagram which also tells you nothing. Then you cant find a menu, or its only a sample menu.

you can tell I spend a lot of time looking up pubs online!!

I second the poster who referenced the black country ales pub - it's fab! Right on the high street in great Malvern. Only does cobs and sells real ales. You couldn't find a more perfect place for what you're looking for tbh.

Thank you so much! Sounds just perfect

It is so frustrating when trying to sort it on line- sometimes I’ve had a link to a FB page that hasn’t updates in years 🙄

That pub is fine if you like no atmosphere.

Try the Great Malvern Hotel for lovely sandwiches. Also, not a pub but v nice, Deli Folk.
