Aggressive 3 year old

I have a gorgeous 3yo boy who I adore. He is pretty easy when he is with us. He has never been a tantrum child and is so sweet. However, he is really aggressive with other kids. He will hit, push, bite kids he knows and occasionally strangers in the park. He is a happy kid, there is no violence or stress at home, he doesn’t watch any tv except Topsy and Tim/wooly and Tig and no other screens. I don’t know where this aggression comes from. I think it’s mainly impulse control and it’s worse when he is tired or overstimulated. What’s worse is that he laughs when he is being told off like he just doesn’t care. I love him so much but am so worried it will escalate when he starts school. Any advice appreciated x

You've identified this happens more when he is tired and overstimulated so prevention is best - as soon as you see he's showing any signs of tiredness, it's time to go home - from the park/soft play etc.

if you can identify where it is most likely to happen then talk to him before you go to set expectations and consequences ie. We're going to the park, in the park we have to take turns and be kind to other people. If you push anyone we will go home immediately.

Then if he does - confirm that you're going home and why. Be calm, be consistent and keep doing it.

If he can't cope around other children repeatedly then find him spaces to burn off energy on his own until he can. But keep trying.

He has a brilliant childminder who says he is lovely with the other kids at hers🤷‍♀️.
it started when I became a childminder a year ago. It makes sense because he suddenly had to share his house, his mums and the toys (although the other kids are not allowed to touch his ‘special’ toys). I just thought it would get better especially as he now has both parents at home most of the time. It seems to be getting worse though
