Looking for migraine advice. I had a zigzag aura this week the 4th in 20 years, with the others nothing happened afterwards This one left me with a very sore back of the head and neck the next day but no headache, but the sore back of the head and neck kept reappearing off and one over the last 4 days. Now, 4 days later I feel what I can only describe as head in a clamp feeling, same with my lower jaw. Is this part of a migraine, nausea even so long after the aura? Today I feel like I am a tiny bit slow too and perhaps a tiny bit confused, for example typing this was not as easy as it usually is. I am seeing the Dr next Monday but I am worried, but I don't think it's a stroke or anything like that, I am just so inexperienced with migraines I don't know what to expect. my BP is ok too btw.

Not sure if this is what you are asking but I started having migraines for the first time in my late 40’s - an eye test and some glasses later they don’t happen any more!

I wish it was that, I'm a long term glasses user with regular checks. Glad yours have gone though!

Sounds like either the Greater Occipital Nerve and / or trigemenial nerves are experiencing migrainous activity. It could also be shifting into vestibular migraine with the nausea… if your balance feels funny that could be the case.

A GON block can help with the back of head pain if it persists. Definitely get checked out for anything else but yes migraines can absolutely lead to lingering nausea, head pain and tenderness, referred jaw tension etc. Accupuncture can help with the neck and jaw pain too.

The National Migraine Centre is a great place for specialist appointments.
