Childrens party etiquette.

An etiquette query please.

My little one has started preschool and has had a party invite from a child I know the parents slightly but not exactly friends with. Happy to go and also parents that seem nice so would like to know better.

What is the etiquette? I mean the mums mobile number is on the invite so I will respond to her that way. Should my child (3) 'write' a reply? Draw a picture? Anything?

Just looking for people who are a bit more used to this. Previously parties have been with children whose parents I know really well.

Just text the mum saying DD would love to come. She’ll appreciate that someone has even messaged her!

A quick text is the norm. Make sure you put yours and kids name in text!

You're overthinking!

Just send a quick WhatsApp or text saying thanks for the invitation, DC would love to come, he's allergic to eels/bananas/potatoes, looking forward to it.

Thanks all. I just had a vague recollection of doing thank you for the invite cards as a child. I wondered if it was a thing still.

Edited to add. I have followed advice and just sent a message.

At DD's school we just text the number given saying thank you for the invite, x would love to come. No allergies or allergies listed. Sometimes ask if there is something the DC is into for present idea.

A lot of our party invites are now on the parent WhatsApp and then the parent sets up a poll for coming/ not coming and then you message if your child has allergies.
