What random thing has happened to you recently

While I was at work this afternoon a car drove past and I thought it looked very like a car i test drove back in June 2024. It had quite a distinctive stripe on the bonnet. So I wrote the registration down and looked when I got home and sure enough it was the same car! I love little random coincidences like this.

About two years after we’d sold our car we saw it on the M25 (probably about 70 miles from where we live). The car was traded in so we had no idea who it was sold onto or where they lived. Both DP and I said it felt weird seeing someone else driving it.

This happened about 7/8 yrs ago so not recent but still very random.

I went to a touring production of La boheme with friends in my 30s, and one of the singers looked vaguely familiar — we got talking to the cast in the bar afterwards, and it turned out that the man singing Rodolfo used to work in a chip shop I used to go to on Fridays after primary school when I was five or six. God knows how I recognised him.

I got stung by wasps. How I got to my thirties without being stung, I will never know, but I don't really want a repeat performance!

Also, I had a terrible day last week. I cheered up when I realised that the car in front of me had 'Hello, Summer' (in this country's language) as its number plate.

Was going to NC and post a separate thread as still a little shaken up but will just post here instead.

Been trying to get hold of our tradesmen for the last 6 months to fit a new shower, I say regular but we've only used him 4 or 5 times in truth. He's very good but has an odd work style of turning up randomly rather then just answer the phone
I was sat on my toilet this evening and heard some scuffling near window but thought nothing of it. The next moment the window is being opened and the builder puts his head in and says "was it in here you wanted it". I had no idea he had arrived and haven't spoke to him for months

Out celebrating my friend’s 60ish birthday with a group of her other friends. I dropped her and two of the others home. One asked to be dropped off in a the same area I lived in as a teen.
Turns out he’s in the same HMO- in the exact same room!
