My gp just referred me for ADHD and autism under right to choose. It says no wait time what does that mean? What happens next?

Can’t answer the no wait time question. However what I can tell you is that you will get a pile of questionnaires. They will tben look at them to see if they are likely to be able to diagnose you. If not, they will cancel the referral.

It should say on the providers website but with mine once the referral was accepted they sent me a load of questionnaires to fill in. When the forms had been uploaded they put me on the waitlist and I was sent an appointment a couple of months later for the assessment.

You could try calling them?

Mostly.

The ones that ask open-ended questions- give as much info as possible because it will make it easier for the diagnostician.

It tells you to fill a number of questionnaires and then if you fit in for a diagnosis, they will provide you one according to your condition otherwise you won't be eligible for it.

I had to do tick box question there were about 12-15 questions gp used that to refer. So is there more tick box questions?

There will be more detailed questionnaires, most of mine were tick boxes but there were a couple of questions where I had to explain things. They weren’t too bad.

Depends on where you live. My DS has been waiting 2.5 years for an appointment and no end in sight.

i had to fill in a 30 page survey.

and try and avoid words like often / rarely / occasionally / some.... etc and replace with measures and specific numbers.

So 'I don't sleep well' becomes 'I go to bed at X, tend to get to sleep at Y, then wake up at Z and am awake then for Q before drifting off again at R then my alarm wakes me at S'
