My 15yo DD just came downstairs purely to put her empty glass in the dishwasher without even being asked.

That’s it. That’s the post.

Amazing 😻

Oh so you’ve raised a princess who’s too entitled to wash it herself?

DISCUSTING 😉

My humble brag is that my workplace are totally ok with me having a bad cold and being off/ at home until better. No constant check ins to see when i can come back or guilt trips about how short they are. Makes the world of difference to previous places 💗

P.s my mother would have killed for my brother to have tidied his room of crockery like that!!! Half the kitchen was up there while he was in high school

TofuTuesday · 16/09/2026 20:49

🎉 can she come and teach mine?

I'm not sure if I can compete but my DS15 bought his glasses down earlier and put them on the kitchen counter rather than leaving them festering in his room.

You are winning at life @AintNobodyHereButUsChickens only envy mixed with admiration here

I wish I could train my parents to do this 🤨

They leave their dirty crockery/cutlery on the draining board when they stay with me. They have a bloody dishwasher at home so no idea why they do it! I get to the stage where I start passive-aggresively slamming stuff into the dishwasher 🤐

PearlsTeapot · 16/09/2026 21:07

Does she give lessons? It's the DREAM for kitchenware to reappear in the kitchen without needing to nag.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 16/09/2026 21:12

We still have to have regular crockery amnesties - bring everything down immediately and we'll look away while you put it in the dishwasher.

It's lovely when something I'd completely forgotten about resurfaces.

HairyBush · 16/09/2026 22:43

I mowed the lawn today, after I said I would. I've had a day where I've been completely 100% reliable.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 17/09/2026 06:39

I’m sorry everyone who is asking for lessons for their own teens, this is an isolated incident and we’re almost always missing glasses, plates and cereal bowls. I am just as shocked as everyone else!

She didn’t even ask for anything!

I worked a season in Bognor Butlins many years ago. All the staff lived on site and we used to hoard cutlery in our rooms, which was not allowed. They did a cutlery raid once where they went into all our rooms and did a cutlery grab! We were all hauled into the canteen for a telling off where they showed us the several mini skips full of contraband cutlery that they had claimed back. It was pretty impressive, but I reckon my teenage son could have matched it.
