Anyone Else Awake Before Important Job Interview Tomorrow?

Job interview tomorrow, thankfully not until 12. Really important I do well, I'm the breadwinner, DH has LT health conditions, and so important to me that I get this; in a similar field to my recent work but it's so competitive everywhere at the moment. Always seems to be that restful sleep deserts me when there's something important the next day which of course is the worst possible time...! Just wondered if there were any other night owls 🦉 out there who've experienced same! Sleep well in between night caring duties usually, just not when something requires I actually need to sleep....!

Note to @MNHQ: Inadvertently posted on Wide Awake Club so have copied across to this board instead due to late hour.

ooh good luck!

have you tried some box breathing and a restful playlist or audiobook?

Hope you’ve managed some sleep. Just deep breaths, smile and do your best I’m sure you know your stuff.
Good luck.

Literally prepping for an interview right this second! Although it’s only 9:30pm here. Plan to do a couple of hours then try to get a good night’s sleep.

I am also the breadwinner and really want this job. So much so that I lied about my visa status. I thought it’s better to get an offer and figure out visa practicalities later when they’ve decided they want to hire me (too complicated to get into here, but there are workarounds).

Best of luck, OP!

Thanks so much- just a friendly word helps so much at the moment

Totally agree that it’s hideously competitive everywhere now. Apparently this job has “100+” applicants. For one position. And that’s standard now.

You’ve got this OP! Make the choice to switch your brain off now (and MN!). Lie still and close your eyes and ‘:shut down’ each part of your starting at one end and working all the way to the other. Deep breaths and you’ll be asleep in no time.

"Boring history for sleep" on Spotify. You either sleep or learn something.

Good luck tomorrow!

Good luck!!

Hope you’re sleeping now and remember to pause for a nano second to organise your thoughts before responding to each question. You’ll be great!

Good luck everyone with interviews today! I find it helps to picture myself walking confidently into the office and introducing myself to the person at reception, greeting the interviewers with a smile etc. Somehow it makes it easier if you’ve ‘seen’ yourself do it already before you walk in.
