Itching and discharge despite clear swab, could the sample be affected?

I’ve had a clear vagina swab despite being itchy even after washing etc. I don’t use products down there. I also have the cottage cheese discharge that is common with thrush. I don’t know if I made the swab unreadable as I didn’t realise there was a screw top on the pot so touched that surface with the swab.

I had this, for months.
It wasn't until I was started on Replens vaginal moisturiser that it cleared up.
You can buy it in a pharmacy or your GP or nurse can prescribe it.
I was recommended to use it daily for a week, then weekly.

You could try the Balance Activ pessaries?
Also if you’re peri or post menopausal you might benefit from HRT. I had awful dryness and sore/itchy nether regions until I started oestrogen

You don't have to be peri or menopausal to suffer dry vagina. Hormonal shifts from imbalances to post baby can encourage it. I would ask the Doctor if you have dryness.

Should I go for an examination? This was swab I did myself
